EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

I don't blame, Dish, Direct, or cable in most cases. The programmers are killing the golden goose. With everything doubling, there has to be some cut somewhere and with free OTA and streaming, the consumers are moving in that direction.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

They can stay afloat longer. Without the merge, neither may not exist in a few years.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

The problem with Dish, Direct, Cable, are the programmers. They demand way too much for the consumer to continue to pay for it. Plus many of the channels just run old reruns. With so many free streaming channels and adding in free OTA, more and more and moving in that direction. The talk...

Amazon shutting down it's FreeVee service?

I don't understand why Amazon would drop Freebee as it is a great way for people to be introduced to Amazon Prime.

    How things have changed

D Dish & Cable are already planning (and have in some cases) switched to streaming. They see the handwriting on the wall probably more than we see it. Direct TV and well as Spectrum are moving to streaming. Direct (AT&T) said there are no more planned satellite launches. They are hoping that...

What Apps ask for a TV provider and Why ?

Depending on what you want. I have Sling after having Dish for nearly 25 years. I have Sling Blue and the adds on for only $61 a month. Being an old movie buff I have both FXM & TCM. After paying about $100 or more a month from Dish for years, this is better and we get locals OTA.

Email from Amazon about Prime Video

I mainly buy small items from Amazon, and often they are like used DVD's from 3rd party vendors that include shipping with their items. On occasion I buy a larger item, but they are over $35. So for me spending $140 a year, it is not worth it. I first signed up with Prime some years back when it...

More new diginet coming in January 1st 2024

We already have Movies!, as we have a Weigel LPTV here with all seven of the channels. With Circle going off we are going to get the Outlaw channel on 49.4. With Twist going away, I saw Tegna was experimenting with something else on 8.4, some Court/Law type show was on there. We already have...

Email from Amazon about Prime Video

I use Prime, but I can just put orders together to make the $35 for free shipping. It isn't worth the $139 and now another $36 a year to not get ads? Forget it. When I got Prime a few years ago it is well under $100.

    Ota Dvr

I still have the old Tablo that doesn't have the fast channels. I will probably get the new one, if I can get guides for METV & METV+ and there is no cost for the guide. I paid up to next year for the guide with the old Tablo.

    Ota Dvr

The OTA data has been terrible for years. Out here on the Oregon Coast, only one unit gives me most of the guides. It is the old Amazon Recast. We have 36 OTA offerings. I get good guides on 34. The only two missing are METV & METV+. I gave up on trying to get the guides and just added Frndly TV...

    Is Direct adding diginets?

For years I have tried to find an alternative way (as a back up) to get Antenna TV & now Rewind. Nexstar has them both and as far as I know, they are only available OTA in most cases. There are a few cable companies that carry the local station. Here, we have both OTA, and that is the only way I...

More Cable Channels are about to end due to cord cutting

I am finding channels like The FBI, Streets of SF, Perry Mason, Hawaii Five O, Ironsides, etc are free and enjoyable to watch. They are all free.
