Funai has just confirmed the release of their profile 1.1 BD player for the second quarter of 2008. The player will be released under the Sylvania brand name and by "several other OEM partners," according to Funai spokesperson Kanako Inouchi. Pricing will be under $300.

For those not familiar with Funai, they are a Japanese OEM manufacturer of consumer electronics. Their products are rebranded for retail under names like Sylvania and Magnavox.
