So did anyone catch this new show on CW last Thursday? I think it has potential, so I guess I'll give it another try.

I watched about 25 minutes of it before I turned it off. Too much of a Twilight. I'll pass. Girls will probably watch it though.

Yep. My wife is already all juiced up about this show. She love vampire stories and thinks they are romantic. I'm like He's dead. How can anyone like making out with a dead person? Necrophilia much?

Wow, that's about 3 miles from my mother's house in Forsyth.
I'm surprised they picked Rumble Road, that's in the middle of nowhere.
*note to Fox* story is useless without pics :p

My wife and I watched it (primarily because we watch everything in this genre, at least once, but also because there was nothing else to watch!) My wife actually like it quite a bit, and I thought it was pretty good for what it was (i.e., clearly aimed at teenage girls). However, it is very clearly in third position in the Thursday 8PM time slot for us (behind Bones and FlashForward) -- actually even lower, because we could theoretically record the first couple of episodes of FlashForward when they are rerun on Friday nights, and thereby free up a tuner to record Vampire Diaries, and we are not going to do so. So effectively, Vampire Diaries, in our book, comes in below backing-up recording of FlashForward.

I recorded but have not watched it yet. When it comes to CW, I don't discriminate much, I mean I've watched EVERY season of Smallville religiously

Watched the first and it was OK. I'll prob give it a season. Reminds me of the early years of Smallville and being very teeny, but I've watched every episode of Smallville sooooo.

I thought the first 2 episodes were pretty good. Decent character development, at least for the main characters.
Even though I thought Twilight was pretty good, for what it was anyways, I have enjoyed that this show isn't playing the "I'm so deep and mysterious because I'm a vampire" angle very much. At least not with Damon.
I think I'll watch it until it goes off a cliff or gets canceled.

I will archive the season and see if it gets picked up for a second before I give the first a try.

It's one of those shows that will develop into something else and more mature with it's own unique mythos, same as Smallville & Buffy before it.

I caught part of it, and could probably watch it. Just have not decided if I want to put in the time though. lol
What I find funny though, is my wife LOVES Twilight, yet she said this show looks stupid.
It looks like the same darn thing to me!

It is too early to tell whether this show is worth watching or not.

I think the show kind of Sucks-no pun intended. I find the plot a little hard to take. What's up with the vampires out in sunlight? And if you were a vampire would you really want to go to high school for an eternity? The plot about the vampire's old girl friend in the picture /portrait being the spitting image of the new girl in high school ,reminds me of Dark Shadows plot with Maggie Evans being the spitting image of Josette , Barnabas 18th century lost love. It is all a little bit of recycled plots from older better shows.

It also depends mythology being used for the story. Not all vampire stories have them stuck in the dark.
