Is it me or has this summer's big screen movie offerings been pretty lame. Oh, Toy Story 3 was fun, and Inception was cool, but for the third or fourth time this summer I have gone to the movie listings looking for some "must see" film, and there just isn't anything there. No blockbusters, no Harry Potter, no Star Trek, no Star Wars, no Spiderman 8, no Dark Knight returns, no Terminating, no end of the world, you get it... no blockbusters. (And teenage vampire films that draws in 40 yr old women does not count as a blockbuster).

On the plus side, I save $40 every time I didn't go to the theater, and my waistline was spared the calories of the popcorn....

It has been a bad summer. Inception was OK. Toy Story was great, but I have seen disappointment after disappointment this summer.

Toy Story was great, but it wasn't a blockbuster.
