LUS Fiber in Lafayette, Louisiana offers 50/50 fiber optic internet service for only 57.95 a month! I would love to have that here.

If I could get fiber to node or fiber to home, keeping satellite would be tough.

Fiber to the node is what cable companies currently use. Fiber to the home is the ultimate as it provides the most bandwidth.Verizon Fios and LUS Fiber are fiber to the home services.
