He did a terrific job as Colonel Potter and was a favorite of mine as well. Saw him in several movies (How The West Was Won being one of them) also and always enjoyed his characters.

I saw Harry in so many films and TV shows and marveled at how good he was at all of them. He raised horses locally. RIP Harry, say hi to Joe Friday for me.....

Probably because of his age, but he always reminded me of my Father, who also loved "Colonel Potter"..I have an engineer who would say, "sorry for your loss, but congratulations on his (Harry Morgan's) PROMOTION." I like that outlook!

Here he is with Jack Webb in 1974 . I posted this about a month ago on youtube. This was the last time they played Gannon and Friday as far as I know. Jack Benny died that year . Notice the mustache. He was working on Gunsmoke I believe at that time and had to grow it. I had heard he wasn't doing well.

Hec ramsey was the other show. It was a Webb produced program starring Richard Boone. It was sort of CSI: Old West.

RIP

Saw Harry Morgan in a lot of movies, including "The Ox Bow Incident" and "The Glenn Miller Story". Many of his movie credits were under the name Henry Morgan.

I would also add Inspector Queen on the old Ellery Queen TV show. Also his role in the Support Your Local Sheriff/Gunfighter movies.
