It has always been interesting to me that many, maybe even most, of the real acts that perform on the broadcasts are much better than the panel and most of the 'professional' acts they bring in on the later shows...

Timer deleted after last season since this show is only concerned about which "singing act" wins and not the most talented act winning. Offhand, adding Stern to the panel of judges only confirms that I made the right choice. Conversely, I betcha see a lot more strippers this year. ;)

Yep, the starting date and number of episodes have been increasing over the years. To be honest, it's gotta be one of their few shows (two shows perhaps?) that draws over 10M viewers each episode. Actually, it's not atypical for NBC to broadcast two audition shows per week until the endless rounds of semi-finals where they have a performance show followed by a results show. I think Howie 2 (as opposed to Howie Mandel) will add another 2M viewers each week. We shall see...
