View Full Version : Clicking Sound from 922.

My 922 has started making a loud metallic clicking sound that I usually associate with a Hard Drive dying. So far there are no other symptoms. What should I do now if anything?

Have you tried unplugging the receiver from the electrical outlet for 10 seconds and plugging it back in? If it continues clicking after the hard reset, we will need to replace the receiver. Are you able to view programming? Do you have an EHD connected to your receiver so you won't lose your recordings? Please let me know. Thanks.

It looks like a power reset fixed it. Everything else works normally and I have an EHD that I copied the programming to as soon as the problem started. I will post here again if the problem returns. Thank you for your help Ray,

Well it looks like I spoke too soon. The clicking is back after the hard reset so perhaps it is time for a replacement 922. Ray C. HELP?

looks like Ray won't be back til tomorrow but you might be able to catch Matt or Mary here in a bit.
