This is a great deal!
As the title states, if you order ME3 through Origin you will receive BF3 for free. If you happen to have BF3 already you will be given a code that you can give to a friend. Just a friendly heads up.

Interesting offer.. I was actually going to wait until the price went down, but a whole free game is tempting. When would I get BF3 though?

So BF3 will be available to download digitally for XBL and PSN (or whatever the hell it's called now)? The page was rather vague for non-pc gamers.

It's not vague at all: PC Digital Download copy of Battlefield 3
Looks like a PC only thing to me.
Lukewarm deal at best, last thing a gamer would want to do at this point is hop into BF3 servers full of people who've been playing regularly since it launched.

Well that's dumb. So they just assume that everyone who wants ME3 would have a high end PC to be able to run BF3? Shame on me for assuming that EA would do the right thing and give a free version of BF3 that corresponds with the version of ME3 they buy.

I get their emails and, especially around the holidays, they often advertise offers to get a PC version of some game free with whatever qualifying purchase you made regardless of platform. If they don't want to risk these free games turning up on eBay by sending out a disc version (360/PS3), they could at least offer codes for downloadable versions of their other games on Live or PSN.
I'm on the fence with pre-ordering ME3 due to current backlog, but the right incentive could easily push me over the edge ($10 credit at Amazon or Wally's still isn't enough for me).

Looks like EA realized what a bad idea this was as well:
