want to take the ps3 hdmi connection and send the signal either to my dell 2407 used for gaming or the 50in crt used for movie watching. is there a switcher or something that has 1 hdmi in and 2 hdmi outputs.

I am not trying to display at the same time ,just use 1 or the other when im gaming or watching a dvd

You can use it for 2 sources and one output or 2 outputs and one source. I wont allow display on both at same time. Its just a very basic switch.

I've tried to use their cable splitters and there are issues with those. They are not compatible with all devices. The switch though works with everything I've tried.

You need a 2x1 HDMI splitter. I have one, works great.

70+ dollar difference for powered versus not. Wow. Stay with monoprice though. Best stuff for the price.

You can try a straight splitter, but I was getting dropouts on the longer HDMI cable run.

I tried one of those from monoprice and got mixed results. Sometimes worked ok but other times I had pixels all over the screen. Best to just use a powered or manual switch box. That way there is no splitting occurring.
