Hooking up a new Dish Net 622 HDTV DVR to my 37" Olevia HDTV.

Having difficulty getting the screen to stretch past 4x3 to expand the full length of the screen.

When I am in the Dish Program Guide, it takes up the entire screen (Full Screen), but when I exit the menu or guide, it goes to a 4x3 aspect.

I've tried changing the aspect of the TV and played with the 622 HDTV settings, but I'm unsuccessful.

I currently DO NOT have HDTV programming, just the receiver.

The options for my TV screen settings are as follows:

1. Full
2. 4x3
3. 16x9

The Dish 622 HDTV settings are as follows:

TV Type

480i
480p
720p
1080i

Analog Type

Cable
IRC
HRC
Offair

Aspect

16x9
4x3 #1
4x3 #2

I have the Dish 622 connected to the TV via a set of composite cables (yellow, red, white). Picture is good, sound coming through.

I just can't get the screen to stretch full screen.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Bob

What happens when you press the * on the remote? The * is to change the display format on the 622.

Outstanding!!! You solved my dilema. Thank you very much!!!

One other question...Will this work with component cables?

Thank you again.

Spend some more time researching here and you'll probably realize

1. you want HD programming
2. why do you even WANT to stretch the 4x3 channels?

1. you want HD programmingNot only would one want it, it is required to lease a ViP622.

The Dish300 has got to go too.

He posted this over in TV and display forum as well. My comment there is why would anyone buy a HDTV and a 622 and then connect them with COMPOSITE cables?

He really needs HDMI or component.

Because they don't know any better. Not necessarily their fault.

THANKS FOR VISITING!
