The young Marine came back from the war, with his toughest fight ahead of him. Merlin German waged that battle in the quiet of a Texas hospital, far from the dusty road in Iraq where a bomb exploded, leaving him with burns over 97 percent of his body.

As many people enjoy the Memorial Day weekend with cookouts and traveling, many have forgotten the reason for Memorial Day.
Many have no idea of the suffering, and of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
No matter what War, Always remember that they gave the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom we all enjoy.
