Dish or D*? D* is sports centric, but Charlie loves college football. Dish snuck in Big Ten HD before D* did last year. Both of them have space. Neither has announced, but anyone with any sense knows both will carry the channel.

Will D* let Dish get the drop on them again this year?

D will add it 1st! source? my bones are giving me that feeling and it never fails.;)
seriously the logical choice would be D because it's more sports oriented but you never know.

Since E* has a deal in place with ESPN and has only announce that it will be available by the end of the year, they must be out of space currently.

E* will.

D* seems to be in a struggle with ESPN over the placement of ESPNU. Whether or not it will be part of the sports pack or not. These things can sometimes take a long time to resolve. See TWC vs the NFL Network.

I think D* will only because Scott was told later this year for E*. I think D* will have it up soon, but not on launch. Satracers comments werent that bad, just that everything was not in place. We all have ASSumed D* and ESPN were having issues, its not fact.

Could just be that agreements were made for Sept on because the sat wasnt supposed to be ready this early.

That's just what we need, another sports channel for a niche crowd. :)

An HD signal of ESPNUHD may be put up on E* so that Charlie can see it but hidden to normal subs until the end of the year. I think D* will make the channel available to normal subs first.

ESPNU will be showing both college football and basketball which are hardly niche sports.

D* can't afford NOT to add it, given they are the 'leader' in sports programming. Don't need to put yet another title on the debate platform for scrutiny....

If E* does add it first, that would be something...

But than again, I DO seem to recall when TNT-HD launched and E* added that first. I was with D* at the time, and tought for SURE that TNT-HD would be on D* just because of the basketball games, but instead we got BravoHD+/UniversalHD instead. I didn't complain about that though...Jesus Christ Superstar looked great in HD....

You also got to realize that the only sports programming that differs on E and D is MLB and NFL. Everything else is equal. Which is probably why these particular sports and channels get priority on Direct (i.e. TBS during the NL playoffs) and the soon to come MLB channel.

Don't forget that E* had Big Ten Network in HD long before D* did, which was really ironic given the shared ownership of BTN and D* at the time.

It was only a week or two.

I'm only saying, he said long before. A week isn't long before.

That's all.

They also uplink the 3-4 HD Alts of the B10, which D* didn't.

I remember it being 2 or 3 Saturdays' worth of games, which was about 20% to 25% of the regular season....

Not true DK. Directv has YES, Dish doesn't. Here in CT and NY, that is a huge difference.

With ESPN's lackluster PQ, especially during several football games yesterday and tonights race, I dont know that we are missing that much not having it in HD.

Theyve had these issues for atleast two years, and even Scott claims they know about it. Whats the fracking problem Disney, not enough money?

THANKS FOR VISITING!
