What's stopping Dishnetwork from getting the NFL package? Why haven't they already have the NFL package.
I never did find out the answer to this

The answer is simple.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
That is the answer.
The all the other reasons are secondary. DirecTV is willing to spend BILLions of dollars for the exclusive rights to this and other sports packages and use them as very low margin or loss leaders. Dish is not. And that is all there is to that! :)

Plus right now its an exclusive package (sunday ticket) to Direct, there has been chatter though nothing proven or anything like that, in 2010 (when contact ends) that it would be open to others??? Who knows though.
As one of the posters have said, Directv has there niche of sports packages, I have had it for the past five years, not sure if I will renew, lot of time between now and then though

How can dish advertise the nfl? I bot on their advertisments. TERRIBLE. No NFL. They said, yes, they have the NFL network. Second question to DISH. I want the BIG TEN> oops, not in Macon,GA. DISH, learn to tell the truth. CALLED: honesty/transperency...

Why is this an issue? If anyone wants NFL Sunday Ticket, get Directv.

I think that you can get the NFL package in GA if you buy the sports package which gives you all the RSNs and,if I am correct, the NFL network.

I wonder how many people have DirecTv just for the NFL package and how many would have had Dish Network if they would have had the NFL available?

I'm NOT one of them, played Charlies games once before, never again, don't care what programming he has. I'll go back to cable before Dish.

The local Fox Sports Networks do not carry a single NFL game at any time. The only NFL games you will get with DishNet are on your local channels, ESPN, and the NFL Network.

Every sports bar, restaurant, pub, bar, tavern, etc.
A lot of businesses get D* instead of E* because of the NFL Sunday Ticket. I know more than a few Business owners that have D* at work and E* at home.... wishing they could have E* at both.

Not at all.. if next season the NFL Package was switched from DirecTV to DISH with a contract of more than 1 season, I think every establishment that currently has DirecTV for that reason would switch to DISH... It is very simple, if you are not in your hometown on a Sunday and you want to watch your team play... where are you going to go, the place that is playing the game or the place that isn't?
Business owners know this, and they know not to limit their marketability in a market that is flooded with options for a consumer.
If DISH bid on the contract and went after it with a sense of "No matter what it costs" aggressiveness then they would take a whole chunk of customers from DirecTV. Not to mention the free advertisement of having their service on display at the, ten's of thousands of, establishments across the country that would switch over.

I remember when I used to have the NFL Network on Dish Network Americas Top 100 Package but that all changed when Dish Network moved the NFL Network to Americas Top 200 without notifying anyone. I wasn't about this and they wanted more money, creed money hungry mongers.
You guys know about the lawsuit that was recently settled between Dish Network and the NFL.

Yes and the NFL Network is still at the Top 200 level nothing changed at least any thing that us as customers would notice.

Ths was the NFL's fault because they lied to Dish Network. If they had kept up their end of the bargain you would still have the channel on AT 100.
