View Full Version : Least Favorite Condiment?

I'm going with Miracle Whip.
Miracle Whip is marketed as Mayo, but it's anything but. It's ridiculously sweet and tastes like chemicals. I can't stand when I order a sandwich that calls for Mayo to be sent out with Miracle Whip instead. Some act like it's an equal substitute! Pft! If I ask for Mayo, give me Hellman's or even a decently made homemade version, just don't give me Miracle Whip!!! Yuck city!!
End Rant.
So, what's your least favorite condiment?

Yellow mustard, I like spicy brown, but hate yellow.

I grew up with Miracle Whip. I thought it was Mayo. Then I found Best Foods Mayo, the west of the Mississippi version of Hellman's. I haven't touched the Miracle since, not on my own watch that is..... Chemicals indeed!

Mustard for me, of essentially any variety. I'm not sure why but I've hard a gag reflex for mustard and almost everything made with it as long as I can remember. So that cuts me off from deviled eggs, most potato and macaroni salads (especially the store-bought ones), etc.
Ironically, the "better" the mustard is (by others' standards of course), the worse it is for me. I can (barely) tolerate the minor squeeze of the runny yellow stuff on a McD's burger for example, but please hold the Gray Poupon or Gulden's...!

Honestly, the only condiments I like are ketchup and barbecue sauce.
As for mustard, mayonnaise, relish, etc.- YUCK!
I'd rather play for the Washington Nationals than touch any of those with a 10-foot pole.

How do you eat a hot dog, sausage or brat? And please don't tell me ketchup. A sausage sandwich isn't complete without a slathering of mustard! :hungry:

You freaks can have your machine tenderized chuck/bottom round steak drowning in A-1...and never know the difference. At least you're cheap to satisfy. You know liver is almost tolerable with a ton of crap on it too;)

I don't know if you consider it a condiment as much as a dressing, but Krafts Ranch sucks %&*. It tastes like Miracle Whip. I hate Miracle Whip and I will never buy Krafts Ranch ever again.

Sorry!:o It was my fault that we even had the Kraft Ranch cuz it was cheaper than Hidden Valley. I figured it would taste a little different, but OMG, I couldn't eat my salad cuz it tasted like I just put Miracle Whip on top. EEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!! I threw the bottle out the same day. The commercials for Kraft Ranch I think are stupid and I will never buy anything but Hidden Valley Ranch ever again.:o:D

I can do without any of the thicker dressings, except MAYBE blue cheese. They all remind me too much of mayonnaise.

Where do you buy your steak?
cub, rainbow, roundy's, super value, kroger's etc...for regular fresh steak. Still very good but the dry aged you have to get in a good butcher shop. Its not very popular because it gets a greyish color
You can do it yourself at home, just unwrap it and sit it on a plate in the fridge for a couple days before grilling

from wikipedia
History
In 1954, Steve and Gayle Henson opened a Guest ranch - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia near Santa Barbara, California (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Barbara,_California), and named it "Hidden Valley Ranch". As a side business, they sold to guests a special dressing that Steve had developed in Alaska - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Flag_of_Alaska.svg" class="image" title="Flag of Alaska"><img alt="Flag of Alaska" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/e6/Flag_of_Alaska.svg/125px-Flag_of_Alaska.svg.png"@@AMEPARAM@@commons/thumb/e/e6/Flag_of_Alaska.svg/125px-Flag_of_Alaska.svg.png. The dressing was popular, and they began selling bottles that guests could take home, and later opened a factory to sell packets of ranch seasoning that had to be mixed with mayonnaise and buttermilk (packets that are still available to this day). In 1972 the brand was bought by Clorox - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Question_book-new.svg" class="image"><img alt="Question book-new.svg" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/99/Question_book-new.svg/50px-Question_book-new.svg.png"@@AMEPARAM@@en/thumb/9/99/Question_book-new.svg/50px-Question_book-new.svg.png for $8 million.

My last girlfriend before I got married used to order her steaks well-done and soaked it in A-1 Steak Sauce. I was so disgusted by this act I dumped her. ;) :)
I am a Med-Rare guy. A properly seasoned steak doesn't need sauce if it's cooked right.
