i just bought a 33 inch dish and came with a single lnb but then i purchased
another lnb thinking something was wrong with that one.
i got a standard single lnb. but still no quality. just signal
im trying to get free to air channels from california.
like galaxy amc inelisat and so on. is there a way to get thing working here
im using a hauppauge nexus-s card and can pretty much test my signal and quality strenght with some other fta box.
i really don't want to buy another lnb......
so how to make things work wtih these two lnbs i have
one is universal made by FIALLO and the the other standard made by captive works lnb
thanks
If you are getting Signal Strength, LNB is probably good.
There are many factory for no Quality.
You need to set up the LNB Parameters properly in the Receiver
Pick one of the LNBs, look at it's info sticker, what does it show for the "L.O."?
You need to enter that Info into the receiver Sat Setup Menu, it's not "Plug N Play".
What Sat are you trying to Lock to, be specific?
Are you using a Motor, or is this a fixed Dish setup?

well the capitve works say L.O. 10.75GHz
and the FIALLO say 9.75 low band, 10.80ghz high band
im either trying to get english or spanish ku band
like 123w english, its not motorized yet
wich lnb to use? and what would be the settings like
Use the Captive Works Standard LNB
In the receiver's Setup Menu
LNB: Standard or Single
LNB Freq / L.O.: 10750
LNB Power: On
As of just recently, not much on 123 west. Plenty of PBS on 125 west
Don't forget to properly skew the LNB in the holder.

ok still no quality just signal
im using wintv
Now you have to Align the Dish.
This is much easier if you can bring a Receiver and TV out to the Dish.
Have the 12180 V 30000 TP selected in the Receiver
Did you properly Skew the LNB?
What do you have the Dish Elevation set to?

50.1 is elevation
10.9 skew
and yes i did try everything and still not quality
could this be a grounding problem
i don't have it grounded
Nope not a grounding problem.
If you are getting Signal Strength, your connections are correct.
When Standing behind the Dish, which way do you have the LNB skewed?
You have the Transponder I listed:12180
What direction do you have the Dish pointed?
