Freedom Isn't Free
Today we say thank you to the men and women who serve and protect this great country. We wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for these great men and women who have served and continue to serve this great country.
Today please remember these brave folks and remember that freedom isn't free.

Thanks for bringing it up on here, Scott. We need to see outside of the States to realize how good we have it. Imagine living in Iraq under Saddam, or anywhere else where the rights of the people are ignored. I know our rights are being infringed upon, and we as a people are not as free as we once were. As far as I know, the right of Habeas Corpus is still suspended, which means the government can kick down our door and drag us off to jail without evidence. Smoking bans and taxes are prohibitive, and lately there's talk of requiring some groups to take the H1N1 vaccination, but we still have it better than most. We also get to protest against the government, in peaceful assembly, if we don't like it's actions. Remember Tiennemin Square?
Although we can't run naked in the streets, we have it better than many countries. When you vote, decide on a career change, want to cross state lines without "papers" and raise your kids as you see fit, think about all those guys who went to the mat for you. Many of them didn't get to exercise these rights we take for granted. They were cut down even before their prime to make a statement. I think it would be something like "We may not always be right, but we will meet all foes to our freedom" May God rest our heroes, bless their families and forever preserve this "one nation under God."
