On the MercII if you push the Audio button, there is a choice of AC3 or regular audio. AC3 seems to be the default now for RT.

On my Visionsat I can select either normal or AC-3 audio on the remote.

Well, there you go. That explains it.

It's sort of like on those HD channels where you have to go hunting for the track you want to listen to so you can hear the voices instead of just the music....

RT has had an AC3 stream for a few months, at least. But it always defaults to normal audio for me.
