The link pretty much says it all. Motorola is buying Ucentric, what this means for V* and D* I have no idea.

Interesting! I guess it's good news for VOOM: Hopefully it will be easier to debug all software and hardware components when they are all done by one company. ;)

Smart move by Motorola. I bet that their strategy is to keep Ucentric software running only on Motorola hardware. I guess D* will be forced to use Motorola DVR if they want to stick with the Ucentric software for the next generation DVR.

The only think I wonder about is Ucentric is also making the software for the D* boxes and I think Motorola makes quite a bit of cable DVRs as well.

Well... based on their ridiculous last year in terms of Voom STB software upgrades, I'm not sure it's a goo0d news...:rolleyes:
