Not much of any free stuff at ALL on vod. Is this because of the rate lock and the crappy starz giveaway til feb 13, that it really sucks?

I am on the 250 with free hd and ended up with free cruddy starz. I know there use to be a better vod selection not too long ago, hopefully its just a lag or mess up. If not they will be remembered when the contract ends.

Are you Platinum? I am I just set several things to dnld. So maybe no platinum means no choice to speak of.

Unless you have the VIP612 receiver. The software has not been updated, so you don't get the choice for the free Platinum content under VOD.

I just checked no platinum. Seems like platinum is a new recent tier to milk more cash.

I have the 612 reciever so I guess I am screwed.

To the other poster "TheKrell....Maybe you and I have differing tastes, so far that channel has not had anything on that I would want to watch.

It has undergone several name changes but usually had Platinum in the name.

No it is a specific set of channels you can only get by adding it. But since you don't have it you now know why your choices are not as good as what i'm seeing. I set a bunch of free HD to dnld today. What's funny a whole bunch of it cost for SD but not for HD. Calling it milking for more cash is in you opinion. I watch several things each month just from EPIX. A little from Sony Movie Channel, Pladia, and the other movie channels in the package. Starz for free is the only premium that I have and the price is right. It sounds to me that since you don't get everything that we get conus then nothing will please you. Sorry that you live in such a beautiful place but can't get everything, but please we get tired of you beating the same dead horse over & over. Maybe when they get all the new EA sats up they will have some spots that shot your way.

You need an HD DVR to dnld is your problem. Get a 722k and then you can dnld. PM one of the DIRT here and they can help you with cost and what you can get according to your account.

I only have the 612 dvr. It gets HD channels. I have downloaded from on demand in the past when it actually had stuff on it.

My concern here is it that it sounds like Whatusernamesareleft is mentioning they "disappeared," based on the thread title, or something changed at least. If that is the case, you may want to pick a day per week where the receiver can be left completely off from 3AM to 11AM EST, mainly because that is when the titles are updated and new VOD content is downloaded to the receiver. If I am reading too much into the initial statement, then it may be a package limitation as others have suggested.

612 should get dnld via VOD. I assume you have it connected to the i-net. That is how we get the shows is via the net. TonyT is one of the DIRT guys here.

Maybe I got VOD and dishonline mixed up. Dishonline is where I only see like 32 freebies, and any other menus have no free ones on the dishonline thing.

That is package specific then. If you do not subscribe to the package (whether premium or channel package), you will not see it "free".

Can we all please stop calling it Videos On Demand?

You may be able to consider the DishOnline over a computer OnDemand, but the "VOD" available to "download" to your DVR and "view later" is absolutely not OnDemand. Calling it so is kinda insulting.

How about calling it STD-AVL? "Stuff to Download and View Later"

dish will only allow us access to 119/110 so we don't get itDish On line or on Demand doesn't come via sat. It downloads via the net. Hit DVR button and you will see a list of things that you can browse thru to download. This is the On Demand that I'm talking about. Not the ch 1 VOD that is in guide.

THANKS FOR VISITING!
