View Full Version : Report channels missing from the Super-DMA
IMPORTANT: If your OTA channel map has been already updated to the new Super-DMA map (http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=47518) and you are already getting program listings for new channels, please verify that you are getting PG listings for all of your channels. If you are missing PG listings for some of the channels that you can tune to, please report such channels in this thread. Your information will help VOOM in fine-tuning the Super-DMA maps.
Please post the following info:
1. Your Zip code
2. Your DMA map number if you know it, or just the City name.
3. Channel number as listed in the program guide.
4. Station call letters
5. RF number if you know it.
6. Signal quality, if you know, or just confirm whether it is coming strong.
Please note, that the new program listings will not show up immediately. Post here only if you have started getting listings for other stations outside your DMA and you are certain that particular station is missing. All other postings will be deleted. Please use the following thread for discussion: Super-DMA is being released! (http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=47518)
To discuss reception issues related to particular stations, please use corresponding threads of the VOOM "In Your Area" Forum (http://www.satelliteguys.us/forumdisplay.php?f=45).
Thank you for your help!

Pittsburgh received the Super-DMA today and it has mistakes :)
I have listed the mistakes in order of severity.
WQEX-Pittsburgh, PA RF:26 Analog:16 PSIP data is 16-1 listing is no info. This staion is located in downtown Pittsburgh and it's digital channel has been licensed since last summer.
WNPB-Morgantown, WV RF:33 Analog:24 PSIP data is 24-1, 24-2, 24-3, no info on all three. 24-1 is West Virginia PBS (WVPBS), 24-2 is WVPBS2, and 24-3 is the Annenburg CPB Channel. Though this station is licensed to WV the Pittsburgh DMA covers 3 states. WNPB covers Washington, Fayette, Greene, Monongalia, Preston, and Garrett counties in the Pittsburgh DMA. WNPB is located 35 miles from downtown Pittsburgh.
WTOV-Steubenville, Oh RF:57 Analog:9 (WTOV is 25 miles from downtown Pittsburgh)
VOOM EPG lists it as 57-1, however WTOV sends PSIP data and multicasts. After a scan 9-1 and 9-2 shows up on the EPG along with the 57-1 that VOOM added. So you have in the EPG:
9-1 no info
9-2 no info
57-1 EPG info for WTOV
It really isn't major so I just hid 9-1 and tune to 57-1 where the guide info is, but since 9-2 is local weather it looks odd having 9-2 and 57-1 instead of 9-1 & 9-2.
WQED-Pittsburgh, PA EPG info is listed on 13-3 when the video is on 13-2.
WPGH-Pittsburgh, PA station multicasts. 53-1 is HD and 53-2 is an SD simulcast. EPG info listed on 53-1, 53-2 has no info (not that it matters as both -1 and -2 are identical programming).
WCWB-Pittsburgh, PA station multicasts. 22-1 is HD and 22-2 is an SD simulcast. EPG info listed on 22-1, 22-2 has no info (not that it matters as both -1 and -2 are identical programming).
Those are the only mistakes I could see or that have been reported to me (not that there are many of us I only know of 6 Pittsburgh VOOMers).
Otherwise, keep up the good work VOOM and thanks for getting channels listed in the EPG.

Orlando, FL has the Super-DMA map, but is missing some of the stations.
I am not receiving any guide info for the following stations:
(Call Letters)(Voom Channel)(Network)(Location)(RF #)
WTVT 13-1 FOX TAMPA FL 57.9
WMOR 32-1 IND LAKELAND FL 49.7
WOPX 56-1 PAX MELBOURNE FL 48.4
OTA Map = 0020
Zip Code = 34711
Thanks for taking care of this! :)

I don't think I"m getting the super dma for pittsburgh. Nothing changed in the local channels menu item for me. I did start getting WQEX this am after a new scan. I now have 13 channels, counting all the sub channels. My scan pauses for 33, but does not pick it up as the signal seems to fluctuate too much or is below the weather threshold. I don't see 57 at all. My antenna is too low or to weak to pick that one up. I'm 26 miles south of Pittsburgh in Washington County. I see pretty much the same problems in the guide as bryan does, with the exception of the two channels I don't get, mentioned above. I'm one of the six pittsburgh voomers!

Is this information useful? Or is there some other information that I need to provide? I posted this but I don't know if it will help get my channel mappings fixed or not.
Thanks in advance.

Shreveport Super DMA
I now have a channel 22-1 ( I don't know where this is from)but I still do not have a program guide for NBC out of Texarkana (KTAL) Offair channel 6-1 I have 89 as a signal strength My zip code is 71104. Any help would be appreciated. I've been on the phone with voom tech support multiple times (not in the past week) and they keep telling me they can't help me.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
As for Shreveport, Louisiana I have found the following...
3-3 (KTBS, Shreveport, dig channel 28)guide info is incorrect, it should be KTBS Cable News
6-1 (KTAL, Texarkana, dig channel 15)no guide info
And a quick question, why does channel 24 (dig channel 25) not show up while performing a channel scan? It pauses on channel 25, however does not list, 25-1, 25-3, and 25-5. The channels do however show in the program guide.

I am finally receiving PG data for Baltimore channels as part of the DC Super DMA Map, but I had to reboot my receivers when I returned from work and I am experiencing mixed results:
Receiver #1 - receive PG data for the Baltimore channels (2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 11-1, 13-1, 22-2 thru 22-6, 45-1, 54-1, 67-2 thru 67-6) However, the channels keep hiding and then reappearing.
Receiver #2 - the Baltimore channels above are in the local channels area (most were already there), but no PG data is being received.
Receiver #3 - same as receiver #1.
Item 1: PG for subchannels 9-2, WUSA-DT weather channel, and 7-2, WJLA-DT weather channel, is not being provided - missing channels.
Item 2: Besides the hiding/reappearing channels, I am sometimes seeing the system hickup and the VOOM channels appearing in the local channels area - they will usually disappear when I page back and forward. I haven't tried to hide a VOOM channel for fear of it disappearing forever.
Item 3: The little green satellite icon was on Receiver #1 this morning; this usually happens during a software updated. I had turned it off the night before and I didn't have time to check it this am. Receiver #2, which was also power off before I turned in last night, did not turn on when I pressed the on button. I did a soft reboot to recover the receiver and then left for work. I didn't have time to check Receiver #3. I'm not too happy with the DMA Map. Of course, I have picked up over 60 channels from 4 DMAs during previous scans and have duplicate RF channels coming from different directions (i.e. RF46 in both Baltimore and Charlottesville)
Item 4: When changing channels (+ or -) the channel channel changes to something entirely different...this happened on at least one receiver. Example: last night I hit the channel + key while on Lifetime (wife was watching, not me!), channel 524, and I was taken to INVOOM, channel 700. Likewise, I would hit the INFO button while on Lifetime and it would display INVOOM, channel 700, on the status bar. This happened with other channels as well. Strange.
Item 5: An example of Item 4. I'm on channel 100 and the PG label area displays 100 HDNEWS-->channel up to and PG label area display 101 with no label information-->hit the info button and the label area displays the channel as being 62-2 (WPTD2), which is a hidden local channel-->manually enter 101 on the remote and it briefly shows 110 FAMILYRM, but jumps to 54-2 (WB54-DT which is also hidden)-->toggle the +- or enter channel and it will eventually right itself. The PG is being corrupted!
Item 6: WTTG-DT, Fox5, has always been a PITA. This is the only channel that will lockup the receiver when checking system status (HELP, INFO, OK) to see signal levels.
Also, while I am technically in the DC DMA (55+ miles), both Antennaweb and CheckHD tell me that I should be receiving digitals from Richmond (51+ miles) and Charlottesville (53+ miles), which I do. I am not receiving PG data for the following channels because they were not included in the DC DMA Map:
Missing Channels IMO
Richmond - basically all the channels in their DMA: WRIC-DT 8-1 and 8-2 (RF22), WTVR-DT 6-1 (RF26), WRLH-DT 35-1 (RF26), WCVE-DT 23-1 (RF42), WCVW-DT 44-1 (RF44), WWBT-DT 12-1, 12-2, 12-3 (RF54)
Charlottesville - the entire DMA which consists of WVIR-DT 29-1 (RF32) and WHTJ-DT 41-1 (RF46)
Oh well, I wonder if VOOM/Moto can create a DMA Map for Fredericksburg/Spotsy. Anyone else having these issues? Also, I noticed my Authorization Status is now MW. It is usually SWO and will change to MP after reboot while the receiver is downloading PG data, but I have never seen MW. What does MW mean? Lastly, all receivers are running the latest & greatest firmware 7.37. Motorola Engineers please feel free to send me a PM.

My boxes are in the #083 channel map which is Huntsville, Alabama. However, I live just over the stateline in Fayetteville, Tennessee (37334) and can pick up a few channels not listed on my map from both Nashville and Cookeville, Tennessee. Can you please add these to my map to receive?
Here's the list of channels I receive:
1. RF#:27 Callsign:WKRN Affiliate: ABC Channels: 2-1 WKRN (ABC), 2-2 WKRN (Nashville Weather Station) Location: Nashville, TN Signal Quality: 98
2. RF#56 Callsign: WNPT Affiliate: PBS Channel: 8-1 WNPT (PBS) Location: Nashville, TN Signal Quality: 85
3.RF#36 Callsign: WNPX Affiliate: PAX Channels: 28-1 WNPX (PAX East), 28-2 (PAX West), 28-3 (Worship), 28-4 (Faith) Location: Cookeville, TN
Signal Quality: 86
4. RF#23 Callsign: WNAB Affiliate: WB Channels: 58-1 WNAB (WB HD), 58-2 (WB SD) Location: Nashville, TN Signal Quality: 87
I would really appreciate a guide listing for these channels. Thanks

Just a quick look this morning and the DC area S-DMA Map appears to have been worked on last night: no lockups, no more out-of-sequence channels, not having a problem hiding/unhiding channels. I didn't have to reboot my receivers this morning...new PG appears to have been pushed last night. So far, so good! Appreciate VOOM/Moto engineers working on this problem.

I reside in the Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville DMA (my ZIP is 28167) but can tune in the following Charlotte stations
22 36-1 WCNC (NBC)
23 3-1 WBTV (CBS)
27 18-1 WCCB (FOX)
34 9-1 WSOC (ABC)
39 55-1 WWWB (WB)
47 46-1 WJZY (UPN)
among others (PBS), all at a signal strength of 88 or better. These show up in my guide (and have since local scanning was implemented,) but I get no program guide data for any of them. Charlotte, NC was released 3/9 I believe, so I wonder if I need to do anything to get the guide data. I have rescanned, re-booted...nothing. Any ideas?

Also PBS Channel 20.1 2 & 3 (shows as 18.3 & 5 on the PG) is messed up 18.3 is actually 18.5 and and 18.5 which should be 18.3 doesn't work at all.

Hi everyone,
Ever since the Washington DC Super DMA was fixed last Tuesday..I can scan
and receive both DCA and BWI stations except DC UPN channel 20.1 or RF-35 does not scan it..The VOOM manual tune says it is at 89-strength..However my other HD tuners are receiving it OK..
This needs to be reported..Tks..

I have had an ongoing issue with this sub-station and the voom stb, the super dma update is just the latest wrinkle. The station is WMHT, they broadcast on rf34 with 17-1 being the SD and 17-3 being the HD. Originally, the VOOM stb, tuned 17-3 on 17-2 with no PG Data. Then 17-2 dissapeared and 17-3 was in the PG with data, but the STB could not tune in. 17-1, however, tunes just fine. Then another PG update came along and my PG had both a 17-2 and a 17-3. 17-3 had PG data, but still could not tune. 17-2 tunes in, but no PG data. Finally, after the latest super dma update, 17-2 is gone. 17-3 is there with data, but still cannot tune-in. (17-1 still works fine, 17-3 comes in fine on my other OTA STB.)
I have also noticed this station changes their format for Station ID going from 1080i to 480i and back. The voom stb always gets confused and then either sits in black or leaves the wrong aspect ratio (looks squeezed) on screen until I channel-up/down to correct. But I guess this is another issue altogether.

Super DMA for Greenville, SC was rolled out several days ago, but I still have a problem. WSOC (ABC dt34) from Charlotte shows up in my guide, I can tune in and watch it, but I still get no program info. I do get program info for all of the other Charlotte networks, but not 9-1.

I live in Sulphur, LA 70663. I have recieved the SDMA update.
The PG for PBS Channel 20.1 2 & 3 (shows as 18.3 & 5 on the PG) out of Beaumont, TX is incorrect. What is playing on 18.3 shows up as if it's playing on 18.5 and vice versa. So when I'm watching Nature in beautiful High Definition, the guide says I'm watching Barney & Friends.
I do pick up more stations than I could before though. And that's cool.

Midland/Odessa DMA i don't know the number got its super DMA yesterday. It only added two stations, 6-1 which i don't know what this is, and 34-1 Fox out of Lubbock. I know I have gotten before 11-1 out of LUbbock, and 20-1,2 out of Abilene (Sweetwater). Can't all the stations from Lubbock and Abilene be added to the super DMA as I can get some of them some of the time. Thank you

Okay I now have the info. The Midland/Odessa DMA is 157. The channel that I wish were added to the super DMA are 5-1,2,3 (PBS Lubbock which is acutally 39-1,2,3 but is renamed 5-1,2,3 on my tv HD tuner), 27-1 (KAMC DT abc Lubbock) 40-1 (KLCK DT cbs Lubbock) 9-1,2,3 (KCBD-DT NBC Lubbock which I think actually comes up as 11-1,2,3) Soon 33-1 (KWES DT from Big Spring which is where i live) will be broadcast, and I will definitely need this one when it goes live. The most important one is 20-1,2 KTXS DT (cbs Abilene station broadcast out of Sweetwater), I can get this one very well and wish you would add it to the super dma as well. Thank you

Ok, a couple of days ago my OTA guide data disappeared for several channels and has not come back. Also, the channel descriptions changed for some channels and several are gone altogether, The numbers are there but the station identifiers are not. It has been working fine since installation and since superDMA upgrade a couple weeks ago until thelast few days.
I did the usual, soft reboot, hard reboot, re scanned locals, etc with no change. It is on all boxes, I have three. I have local map 0092. Zip code is 61434.
The satellite pg is fine. I have done several reboots, soft and hard and every time it comes back the same. Sat channels OK, locals screwed up. I noticed some of the stations have different call letters than before, the ones with the missing guide data. Example it used to say KWQC-D1 and KWQC-D2, now says KWQC-HD and KWQC-SD with no guide data. There is also some channels with just the number such as 18-2 and 30-1 with no call letters.
Thanks,
Tim

Hello,
I live in Lemoyne, PA, 17043, part of the Harrisburg, PA, DMA. I am able to get a 81 signal strength reading on WNUV out of Baltimore that has an RF channel of 40. It is missing from the EPG though most other Baltimore stations are on the EPG.
Please add WNUV to the Harrisburg Super-DMA.

New channel: 33-1,2,3 (this renames to 9-1,2,3)

Ilya - the Super DMA for Sacramento came in last night - lots of new stations listed! :D Almost all have PG info, but there are two stations that do not. Here's the info as requested above:
My zip: 95602
DMA: 0019 Sacramento, CA
Channels:
2-1 KTVU HD (FOX) RF 56 Signal 94
2-2 KTVU-DT (FOX) RF 56 Signal 94
4-1 KRON-SD (NBC) RF 57 Signal 92
4-2 KRON-HD (NBC) RF 57 Signal 92
I believe both should be part of the San Francisco DMA as they are broadcasting from the same location as other San Francisco stations that are listed in the PG with info in the guide. Both show up in the guide but with "no info" listed.
Thanks,
Doug

KMSP Channel 9 is mess up in Minneapolis 0014. I think. It's showing Fox KMSPD1 and D2 (which should be 9-1 and 9-2) as being on 9-8 and 9-9. No signal. BUT they are coming in on 9-1 and 9-2, but the guide is showing 9-1 through 9-4 as being some PBS multicasting action by the call letters of KAWE.
It cost me an hour of my life I'll never have back. And all because my brother in law made me watch American Idol last week when we were visiting. Doh!

Got the Super DMA yesterday for Macon, Ga. map #122. Only 2 stations from neighboring Atlanta (map #9) appeared ( WAGAD1 and WUPAD1 ). There are several other Atlanta stations that I can receive:

WHSG-SD3 D-44.3 " D-63.3 "
WHSG-SD4 D-44.4 " D-63.4 "
WUVG-DT D-48.1 " D-34.1 Analog-34
Also, no stations appeared from neighboring Columbus, Ga. (map #unknown). I can receive these stations from Columbus:
WRBL-SD D-15.1 remapped D-3.1 Analog-3
WSWS-HD D-31.1 " D-66.1 Analog-66
WYEA-HD D-35.2 " D-38.1 Analog-38

Also in the Macon DMA, channel D-16.1 remapped to D-24.1 Analog-24 WGXA is missing from the regular DMA map.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks,
Tim
Well, all of the sudden the OTA guide is back to normal, the station call letters are back to normal and the guide data is there except for a few stations.
Channel 8-1 WQADD1 show OFF AIR when is is not, need guide info
Channel 8-3 WQAD-SD says (no info)
Channel 25-2 WEEK-SD says (no info)
Channel 47-1 WTVPSD says (no info)
Chanel 47-2 WTVPHD says (no info)
Thanks,
Tim

2-2 KTVU-DT (FOX) RF 56 Signal 94

I believe both should be part of the San Francisco DMA as they are broadcasting from the same location as other San Francisco stations that are listed in the PG with info in the guide. Both show up in the guide but with "no info" listed.
Thanks,
Doug
Ilya - after a little more looking at the Super-DMA for Sacramento, I see another error that may be more significant than the omission of the guide info on the stations listed above. I noticed that the original channel 10-1 (KXTVD1 - ABC in Sacramento) in the pre Super-DMA map has been replaced by 10-1 KSBW (NBC) in Salinas.
Summary:
Incorrect Info:
10-1 KSBWD1 (NBC) RF 8 Salinas, CA
should be replaced by
Correct Info:
10-1 KXTVD1 (ABC) RF 61 Sacramento, CA
KXTV also has a 10-2 subchannel and it is correct in the guide. Just the 10-1 channel shows the problem.
Again, if you need more data, please let me know.
Thanks,
Doug

Most of the initial problems in the Pittsburgh DMA have been fixed over the past couple weeks. Every few days one of the errors would be fixed. Incase it was overlooked two errors remain.
The guide data for 57-1 WTOV-Steubenville should be moved to 9-1. WTOV sends PSIP data so it gets scanned in as 9-1 (and 9-2, the local radar), but the VOOM listings are on 57-1 which is the RF channel.
WNPB-Morgantown analog 24, RF 33. Guide data is still missing for 24-1, 24-2, 24-3. WNPB is located in the Pittsburgh DMA and is the only channel in the market missing guide data.
I have recently noticed the guide data is now also missing on TitanTV (sometimes I go over there for listings several days in advance) so if VOOM needs a contact for the channel their phone number is 304-556-4900 their schedule for all three channels can be obtained from http://www.wvpubrad.org/tv/tvgrids.htm
Thanks You VOOM Team for your hard work and dedication :)

4. WFUM-HD, WFUM-SD

Any help I could get with getting the PG info to show up would be appreciated. Of the many channels added to the map these are the only ones I receive -- and they're the only ones I don't get the PG info for. :no

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum, Timm. I show loads of new channels that I can't get a signal for, but most of them have "info". I haven't tried to figure this out yet. Hope you're successful in figuring out your situation, and I'll work on my problem soon...too much new stuff...not enough time...for a slow learner, like me! Vicki :) :)

I also have "loads of new channels that I can't get a signal for, but most of them have "info" " -- it's the one new channel I do get a signal for that gives me the "no info". How's that for bad luck?
Way back when, my local PBS sub-station didn't have PG info and Sean had me e-mail him my info and the station's info and voila!-- a week or two later it had info. I'm hoping that Ilya is doing something similar with the information he asked us to post. (Please?) :D

My super DMA appeard last Thursday (March 31). The map number for Columbus, Ga. is listed as 126. Zip Code: 31904
The new stations that appeared are as follows:
7-1 WCIQD1 - Mount Cheaha, AL
7-2 WCIQD2 - Mount Cheaha, AL
27-1 WAIQD1 - Montgomery, AL
27-2 WAIQD2 - Montgomery, AL
32-1 WNCFD1 - Montgomery, AL
No signals for the above can be received, Montgomery is 82 miles and the other is over 100. However, when doing a local scan, I can receive:
43-2 WGIQHD - Louisville, Al RF44
43-1 WGIQD1 - Louisville, Al RF44
This station has a good signal, 85 on most days and is only 50 miles, but I cannot receive the PG listings for this. Why not include 43-1 and 43-2 on SuperDMA since it's closer and has signal that can be received in this area?
All my local stations are fine except for our local Fox affiliate. The PG listings are gone from their main channel, 54-1. They now appear on their secondary channel which is currently not used, 54-2.
My regular local line up is as follows:
RF CHANNEL STATION NETWORK
15 3-1 WRBL CBS
15 3-2 WRBL (LOCAL WEATHER RADAR)
31 66-1 WSWS UPN, (OPELIKA, AL)
35 38-1 WLTZ NBC
44 43-2 WGIQHD PBS (LOUISVILLE, AL)
44 43-1 WGIQD1 PBS (LOUISVILLE, AL)
47 9-1 WTVM ABC
49 54-1 WXTX FOX
49 54-2 WXTX (CURRENTLY NO SIGNAL)
Can someone from Voom please look into these issues?
Thanks!

Hello,
I live in Lemoyne, PA, 17043, part of the Harrisburg, PA, DMA. I am able to get a 81 signal strength reading on WNUV out of Baltimore that has an RF channel of 40. It is missing from the EPG though most other Baltimore stations are on the EPG.
Please add WNUV to the Harrisburg Super-DMA.
