The instructions for programming my remote for my TV (Sony Rear Projection LCD 42") include turning the tv on and off again several times to "scan" for the tv. Usually I have seen a set of codes listed for any given TV than one can try.

Here's my problem. SONY does not recommend (because of the LCD Mercury bulb) turning the set off and on and off and on--as it has to cool down before actually powering off.

With this in mind, is there anywhere where codes might be available for my TV to program into the VOOM remote--instead of having to do this scanning, which I really cannot do?

Doesn't your TV do the little countdown timer deal? Mine does.

Even if it didn't.... just take your time programming it. Hold the channel up until it turns the set off. Wait however long you think you need to and then channel down till it turns back on. Push 'TV' and you're good to go.
