Since it seems voOm is atleast somewhat listens to its customers so lets get a list going for them :)
Some personal one
1. All the older startrek movies
2. Robocop 1 (I know theyve had 2 and 3 but both are a far cry from the first)
Im sure Ill think of more....

All the original Planet of the Apes movies would be great. I believe there were six of them.

So far the shows listed would indicate that perhaps adding a Science Fiction type channel to the Cinema 10 package is in order? http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/aktion/action-smiley-043.gif
Maybe we could consolidate World Cinema, Film Fest, or Majestic to make room for the channel?
Then I would vote for:
Blade Runner.
Dune.
Time Bandits.
Others???

Oh.... completly forgot about blade runner/dune.
Yeah Id love to see a SCIFI channel but would think most scifi could fall under the GuyTV channel.

Any SCIFI would be great...the original ALIENS....or BLADE RUNNER....INDEPENDENCE DAY....Any movie that is loud and has action.

I still say The Night Stalker movie and Kolchak: The Night Stalker TV series would be good additions to the MonstersHD lineup. Tell VOOM what you want to see by clicking here. (http://voom.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/voom.cfg/php/enduser/cci/std_cont.php?page=null)

I want to know what happened to BMW racing and Monster Trucks (http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=30208&highlight=monster+trucks) that were supposed to be on WorldSports? Oh, and what about Demolition Derby (http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=31673&highlight=monster+trucks) while we're at it.

Yeah Id love to see a SCIFI channel but would think most scifi could fall under the GuyTV channel. I would reserve GuyTV for more Action/Adventure type programming with the occasional Bikini Contest thrown in for good measure, but would create a Science Fiction channel for… well, um, the Science Fiction type programming. :D

Yeah but they just rebranded teh channels so I dont see a "re re" branding. I think they should combine some but I dont see that happening. A SCIFI channel would be better than monsters though (and probably the best of the voom exclusives).

Voom already has this one -- they originally showed it on RAVE. Haven't shown it much since. It's pretty awesome.

Most of all I'd love Voom to get Starship Troopers. I know Showtime has been showing it on occasion, but I think it'd be great for it to be repeated on MonstersHD and GuyTV a lot also.
I agree with some of the others on here too. Would love to see Blade Runner(Voom would get a lot of attention if they acquired this film), Dune, the Aliens flicks, and Close Encounters.
On the subject of Aliens, remember when MonstersHD showed The Alien Saga documentary? I really enjoyed it, then they showed Insemenoid afterwards, which is a low budget Alien ripoff. Would have been nice to see Alien aftwerwards. But hey, they're trying.
Movies I would like to see on Voom HD. Most of these movies are Not available on DVD:
Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark
The Incredible Shrinking Man
El Norte
The Entity
The Legend of Lizzie Borden
The Haunting

speaking of aliens I was watching monsters looking for the playboy gouls gone wild thing and noticed a new trailer for monsters (the comic book looking one) and one of the clips looked like it was from aliens.... unless there was some other knockoff flick but it sure looked like the aliens monster to me. And all the other clips were from other movies they have shown.

How about the original Sean Connery 007 series to the GuyTV channel?
jagouar
03-29-2005, 09:32 PM
ohh yeah 007 series would be nice for guyTV. IMO GuyTV is the one channel that can be great (it can be by far the best channel out there for me) with some of the additions here.
One other addition....
Hunt for Red October (although i beleive one of the movie netowrks has been showing this lately)
and maybe a few of the other sub movies.

Maybe Voom could follow HDNET's lead and pickup some of the HD TV shows that had short runs. They air stuff like Hack, The District, and others that had 1 or 2 year runs and were cancelled. How about a "HD TV" channel of older, cancelled HD shows or shows that were originally HD but are now in syndication? I'd like to see shows like 24, CSI or Firefly from the beginning in HD. HDNET is doing this with Smallville.

The documentary The Alien Saga has aired several times on Monsters, so I'm pretty sure that's what it was from. It's just a documentary that covers the making of all four Alien films.
I'd love to see the actual Alien movies on MonstersHD though.

Don't know about Star Wars, but LOTR's have been on the premium stations in HD. I would think that it's very unlikely that they'll show up on the HDCinema channels any time soon. Just a little too, well , premium. :D

Though the season is over, I would love to see World Cup Skiing on Rush or WorldSport.Yeah, that'd be cool. I'd like to see them cover all those odd sports I only get to see during Olympics. Stuff like luge, skeleton, speedskating (especially short track), ski jumping, freestyle skiing, short track bicycle racing, water polo, volleyball, swimming, track & field -- all that stuff I find fascinating during the Olympics, but hardly ever see it in non-Olympic years.

3 D Movies--Just saw, on Discovery HD a little snippet of a program that told us to put on our old blue/red 3D goggles--which I just happened to have saved for just such a day--it showed the Mars Spirit on Mars--I think I DVR'd this show, so will do some playing around to see this 3D episode again--hope entire movies will be converted.
It was not easy to see the 3D--but it was a surprise and didn't have a lot of time to see it and adjust glasses, etc.
Anything else show up in 3D that I am not aware? Is it time for a special thread on 3D?

More 70's drive in films. Roger Corman low budget car chase films (Grand Theft Auto, Eat my Dust, etc.). They'll be cheap, and be something that hasn't been seen on a lot of the other channels since Encore has shifted to mostly 80's and newer films....

John Frankenheimer's classic "Grand Prix" starring James Garner. Great visuals, and even early surround sound. And, possibly the only car racing movie ever filmed that doesn't completely suck.

Interesting that someone brought up 'Mighty Morphin...'
I just recently got a resurgent interest in the original Ultraman. I think that would be a fantastic addition to the Monsters HD lineup. They've done a series of films, from 1972 up to a recent re-invention of the original in 2004. The TV series could be ripe for re-mastering (that might not be necessary, as DVDs are set to release stateside in July).
Bring it on, Voom!!!
I'd really like to see the Dirt Harry series get the same treatment that the Bond films just got on Voom.
