Unfortunately, it may be. Let's wait to see what the other half of the month brings and what their website brings in August once it is updated. On a different note, I saw a piece called 'Environments' on Equator HD. These are represented between programs. I do not remember seeing them before. But maybe an indication that they are going to start producing more content. Who knows? I just hope.

Way to go James!!! What does this mean about 20 hours of new HD content for August. I sure am glad there is HDNet. As soon as I get charged for the HD pack I am dropping VOOM. If everyone keeps Voom it will probably not get any better. I am going to cancel just to hopefully be heard. Don't know if that will do any good though.

This is why I dropped voom yesterday. The same movies and concerts playing on a repeat over and over how can anyone watch the same programs. When they add more new programs I will see whats on and see if it is worth the money to watch. HD is nice but give me some verity I will watch the hd pack for now. Maybe this is why voom went bust on there own with the same programs on a repeat basis.

When Voom was on there own, they showed a lot more new content. What is ocurring now is very dismall. They could have been a great HD content provider. If they are waiting for something to happen before they start producing additional material then what is it? Why wait? They should be cranking out as much as possible to gain market share while they can (sound familiar?).

How does their saying go Voom the Biggest Library of HD Bliss. I think not!!

It looks like they are trying to sell this to the Dish Network people and disregard anyone of the 50K ex-voomers. How many times I have to see the Peter Gabriel concert and look that's coming up next month :D

I think that they are just trying to fail with the 10 remaining channels. I doubt that rest of the channels will ever launch. Why launch them if VOOM can hardly put decent new content on 10... I probably counted 25 hrs of new material this month. What a shame... I am paying $1.00 for each program.

I do not think you are alone on your assessment. It just looks like they want to fail and they are making easy to do.

Sean, I think you're correct (about trying to fail). If I remember correctly, there was an exit clause on the "deal" and it had to do with the amount of content.

I think I speak for all former VOOM subscribers when I say, El Stinko VooMo. :mad: How many times is VOOM going to step up to the plate with the bases loaded...and strike out without swinging? Forget the VOOM e-mail account, perhaps it's time to send Dolan Sr. a response. At first I thought moving VOOM21 to E* would breath new life in the the world of HD...instead, it appears that VOOM21 has lost the will to live and has taken residence at the HD Hospice.

Just like the original VOOM sight this sight is out-of-date. When you press coming soon, you get movies for June and July. Wow!!! Why would a company as large as Cablevision nt have the pride to at least keep the websites up-to-date...sad...

I sure hope Charlie is jumping all over this. This is his future. If D* comes out with a solid HD pack....bye...bye...E*. They will loose so much market share it will be devistating. Here's to hoping E* & V* are a success.

Enough time has passed since the closure of the DBS business. That should not have a material impact on VOOM originals anymore. If we want something to happen we should be proactive. If that does not work....bye...bye...VOOM.

Sean, I think you're correct (about trying to fail). If I remember correctly, there was an exit clause on the "deal" and it had to do with the amount of content.

just shooting something out, what if voom is doing to this to get out of the dish deal, charles takes the company private and starts a new dbs company, without having to deal with any of the wall critics.

VOOM's window of opportunity as a viable DBS provider has passed. As a content provider, I can't image why they would want to get out of their contract with E* which, at present, it their sole paying customer.

Also the fcc has not yet approved the sale, maybe they are waiting to see if another provider will come along to be a 3rd major dbs provider.

With the past history of poor service, lack of h/w quality and of course going under I doubt that anyone would every sign up with them again. I seriously doubt they could ever be a DBS company again.

True, but I think having a 3rd DBS provider will be a hard sell. Charles brought his friend over from Europe to be on the board and convince everyone they could be a 3rd DBS provider, but he said it would not work. With cable now carrying more HD, FIOS, D* and E* I am not sure if even a name change would work.

I think everyone would know the Dolan's are behind the new company and there is a very serious lack of trust in that family.

Did anyone else notice that the guide this past Saturday showed Spanish soccer three times. However, 2 where Japanses baseball (old of course) and one was Euroleague basketball (old of course). I need to start thinking more positively.

I guess what I am asking, does it seem like Voom is ramping up for the fall after a slow summer or I am I just wishful thinking.....

What you see on the first post of this thread is what is new. I did notice the mess up of the PG. Hopefully, it will pick up but I am still skeptical.

I have to say, any momentum/new content is a good sign in my book...I, like others (and many that have had Voom for MUCH longer than I) was starting to get a bit weary of the repeats.

Some of these flicks are quality, which is also a good sign. "Platoon" looked great, haven't seen that one in a long time. What a cast. "Bob Roberts" is on my 942, waiting to get a viewing. And, I'm sorry, but "Clash of the Titans" in HD, what's not to like ;)! I think the slumbering beast is waking up...or has licked it's wounds long enough and now knows its got to get up and get moving.

Hey guys, new poster here.

I just got the Voom package with Dish network back in late May. To be honest, the only reason I switched from DirecTv was for the Monster channel. So far, I've really enjoyed it, even though it has a tendency to recycle the programming every month or so.

I REALLY like what they're doing in August. Clash of the Titans, Dr. Phibes, the Hellraiser Movies.. that's a dream come true for horror/sci-fi nuts like myself.

welcome to the site. Monsters HD is really a cool channel. I saw Dr. Phibes, couldn't catch Clash of the Titans but I know I will. You will enjoy the Vincent Price movies they are a treasure.

That Creeping Flesh is one of my favorite Peter Cushing flicks. I hope we see more Hammer films in the upcoming months.

I was glad to see that The Professional was presented in the widescreen version. Last time I caught it, they showed the 4X3 version for some reason --eww. Hopefully they'll throw that one in the trash for good. The widescreen one looks really good.

Either way.. it's new to me. One of my favorite flicks from when I was a kid. Can't wait to see it in all its 1080i glory :D
