The local cable co. is now offering local channels in HD. The receiver must be capable of receiving QAM signals on the OTA digital cable input. My question : is the VOOM receiver capable of receiving the QAM signal on the digital antenna input???? :yes :no

The VOOM receiver only has an ATSC tuner meaning that it can only decode 8-VSB or digital OTA signals. It does not have a QAM tuner and therefore cannot decode anolog or digitally encoded cable channels. Sorry. :no Also, the VOOM receiver does not have an NTSC tuner so it cannot decode analog OTA signals.

Some cable companies pass-through 8-VSB without conversion to QAM, but those companies are few and far between...and doesn't apply in your case. However, the VOOM tuner should work just fine given this scenario.
