My brother is home on leave before shipping out to Iraq and he's staying with me and my wife and he wants to check out PBHD before leaving his godless infidel ways behind for the next year or so. I fear I'll get some little old lady who'll ask me why I'm adding porn! ANd does it come on the same day? Shopuld I call from home to confirm that it's on? Thanks!

No one's going to ask you about why you're ordering. Adult programming has the biggest margins in television. The CSRs are told to not comment, I'm sure.

When I ordered, the girl I got on the phone just said, "Enjoy your PlayboyHD". :) And boy have I been enjoying it! That channel rules!

I had a female CSR as well, no problem, she can't see your face turning red as you're ordering.

If the CSR's did not act professional during situations like this then they wouldn't be CSR's very long I would hope. Plus, they fact that they're recorded makes CSR Reviews a wee bit difficult if a Manager can hear them taunting you in some way over your order.

Enjoy it dude! The CSR could care less what you are watching. Be nice to them and you'll certainly get the same courtesy in return.

adding the channel is no big deal just ask that you would like the new channel on 701 added, that way you don't have to say playboyhd. They'll just add it right away.

When I ordered it, the entry showed up in the guide while I was on the phone, but when I tried to tune it in, I got the message that I had not subscribed to the channel. Several minutes later, it came on.

Oh yea, I remember one more thing the CSR said. She said, "You realize what is on that channel, right". I thought that was pretty funny. Yes, I want HD porn, turn it on! :)

One word of warning, when I added PlayboyHD, it automatically got added to my Favorites, so if you don't want young eyes to see it, remove it from Favorites and Adult Guard it.

btw some of the programming on there has amazing quality with little pixeltion/artifacts. Then there is some that look great, but any quick movements, and it looks bad with pixelation, and artifacts everywhere. Over all the content is much better than what is shown on the regular PB channel offered by other Sat/ cable companies.

Thanks for the well wishes! We're really proud of him, a little nervous and scared, but it's his job. I figured 3 weeks of PB HD on me is the least I can do. I'm going to try to forward to him my Maxims every month, but I hear because we're trying to respect the muslim nature of the country, the military is asking family to refrain from sending that type of material, and believe it or not, bibles. Yea, it is odd. I was watching the nude bowling that they sometimes do on The Weekend Flash, and that seems to really fall apart with pixilation. I've watched it twice. The first time was really, really bad, and the 2nd time pixilated a lot but wasn't as bad.

Is it the upconverted stuff that pixelates badly? Seems to me I haven't seen the HD stuff pixelate (maybe my eyes were too crossed to notice?).

I haven't had a show pixelate on me on PBHD...wonder if it's your specific signal, mine is a-ok in Dallas. :-P

When I ordered, the girl first asked "Do you know how to set the parental lock?", I said yeah (I have no kids), she says "It's on page blah of your manual", I said ok. Then before she sent down a hit, she asked "Is there anyone there who shouldn't be?", I said no. It was a little different. It seemed like it was something VOOM requires them to say.

Oh, and yes I have noticed POOR PQ on PBHD since the last 'upgrade in PQ' a few days ago. PBHD used to be one of the few channels that looked halfway decent. I hope this crappy PQ is from VOOM and not inherent to HD, because if it is, then I'm very disappointed in HD.

Okay- took the plunge and called the CSR......... Couldn't be easier! Had a guy- named Dan! Asked for channel 701 (I'm at work and didn't really want to say PLAYBOY!!) He hit my box twice just to be sure, told me the speech about the parental controls, and said to call anytime if I want to cancel. Also spent an extra dollar to get the Don King boxing event this Sat night. Boxing in HD- COOL!

me either. it looks the same to me as it did before the update. Oh, and btw Seandudley, I see the same thing that you do in regards to pixelation with the naked bowling thing, and as far as programming goes in general, some bad, some good, some great! I have noticed that the feature movies they play at night, and the nooner show seem to look the very best.

Yeah, especially with strobe scene changes, but not just those. I can see the 'checkerboard' pattern everywhere, especially on solid colors.

I told her that 65" HD Porn would be too much to handle (she got a kick out of that). Why pay for softcore - kind of like watching a game where they cut out the good plays.

One question though - if a female calls in to subscribe to Voom, are they asked whether they want Playboy channel? I bet not!

My question is whether they would suggest it to a woman calling to subscribe to Voom for the first time, or calling to add some other package. My guess is that they recognize that most of us guys think with something south of our brains.....I admit it......and they won't suggest it to a woman just calling for normal (vs. abnormal???) service...

Dammit, I want HD spankOvision too... I had to make a command decision, VaVaVoom or Voom + Boobs... I went with VaVa.

The Playboy HD channel is about the worst looking channel of the HD channels on Voom that I have seen. Heavy pixelation and then they switch all time from a full 16.9 picture to one with the bars on the sides and just back and forth. Don't look like quality HD to me. I am canceling after just 24 hours.

You obviously have not seen "The Nooner" or "Splice Clips". All in studio shots that are shot with HD cameras. The best and clearest HD pictures on any VOOM channel. Don't cancel until you see these shows. You have to see them to believe it.

don't forget those movies they play at night in HD, that easily rival the quality of HBOHD.

FYI, officially, there is no XXX rating, only X. The adult industry started using these extra X's to try and make their movies sound more hardcore than just a plain old X rating.

LEM52, keep it for a month then decide. They have a lot of different content but tend to repeat the same stuff on a given day. They do have some excellent looking content, and the PQ isn't bad either.

I've got regular Playboy. Some of these people I really don't want to see in HD.

They had an episode of Playboy's Girl Next Door and one of the gal's was from Portland, OR, WOW! I'd like to be walking downtown and run into her! She is a stoned fox and looked great in HD. I went to an event where they had some of the Bunnies signing autographs and out of the 5 that were there, only 2 of them looked naturally good, the others had so much makeup on for their centerfold shoots that I couldn't even recognize them in the flesh.
