The Sopranos got interested last week and this week the intrigue of a gang war might become reality. Deadwood has become very interested and can't wait how tonight's episode unravels.

Last week finally picked up the pace. I hope tonight's ep is just as good or better, because Sopranos was getting BORING

For the past 3 years, the Sopranos has been a soap opera. I don't care for the Carmella divorce angle, will they get back together. A minimum of 7 people should be killed per episode. Deadwood hasn't been the same since Wild Bill died.

BUt Wild Bill really DID die that way. Would you leave it out?

Not suggesting keeping wild bill alive, I'm saying the show misses him.

Sopranos quite slow tonight. Too many different stories into one episode.

Soprano's still holds my interest. What's up with Meadow. Is she that dense? Her poor bastard boyfriend sure is in a jam. Figured he would wind up dead before the end of the episode.

Deadwood is getting better and better.

Anybody catch the comments made by the two young kids looking for their dad. Sounds like they may be in to scam the two bars for cash?

SOAP OPERA. Meadow Soprano brings nothing to the show except eye candy. The whole thing with her and her boyfriend was terrible. The romantic entanglements of two stupidly idealistic, spoiled, and worst of all know it alls taking up 30 minutes of the show was awful. No nudity, nobody died. Terrible.

Yep I have to agree...its a soap opera. Matter of fact if you have watched Days of Our Lives in the last 6 months, more characters have bit the dust on that show than on the Soprano's. How many episodes are we into the season? We are more than half way through correct? Everything seems to building up...and then nothing much happens. At this rate they could go on for 10 years!!! Very disappointed in the show. I actually kept on switching back and forth to espnhd for some HD baseball.

Three episodes left of the Sopranos -- this one concentrated more on Anger Management. I saw one "black screen" and a couple of breakups. Deadwood: Was not expecting the kids to get killed so fast. They lasted two episodes!

The soccer Mom who got punched out--was that the same actress that had the twins on the last episode of Friends?

And Tony Siragusa wasn't in this episode, but he had cameos in the last two. That guy could probably be a good actor.

The soccer mom seemed quite a bit older than the actress on Friends.

I am expecting a good episode from the Sopranos Tonight. Only three more left.

That was the worse Sopranos ever! A twenty minute dream squence? What are they high?

Maybe this show needs to go away.

Sean Mota
05-17-2004, 09:55 AM
I think it is time to go away but I think they will pack all the actions and scramble to put everything in the last 20 minutes of the last show. I am afraid that the next episode will amount to nothing.

Last night I was watching this disaster unfolding, I did not know if I was watching a "Twilight Zone" episode or Sci-Fi (which is not carried by VOOM). Whoever wrote this episode should take a long look of himself in the mirror before trying to write another script. I do not even think it will qualify for a Twilight Zone episode. What a piece of trash!

I hope this week's episode is a lot better than last week's. Desciption from hbo.com:

With the feds pulling a new trump card, Adriana ponders her options. Tony B. unloads some heavy baggage on Tony, and vice-versa; Johnny Sack makes Tony an offer he can refuse; and Tony offers Carmela a deal to make her real-estate dreams come true.

I'd enjoy Deadwood more if they didn't drop the F* bomb every 2 lines of dialogue. My 18 year-old son counted 81 in the episode week before last.

I know people who really talk that way. It's really annoying. I'd rather have TNT-HD for the blind (but that's another thread).

But I keep watching...I must not mind too much.

I thought episode was good. June 6th for last episode. I am afraid everything will be put together too fast for an hour episode.

I knew CHris's wife would get wacked, nice touch with seeing her driving down the road alone first though sorta like "this is what I should have done." lol. I still think big trouble is brewing with Chris hes gonna crack and kill or be killed.

I switched to HBO from 60 Minutes right after Andy Rooney got done, and caught the tail end of an interview between Bob Costas and Edie Falco. He asked her what was in store during the final show, and she said "something about an elephant, but that's all I'll say".

Maybe Vurbano is right.....Christopher crushed by an elephant? Or maybe Tony Sirugusa will reappear with a trunk and gray, wrinkled skin.

That was a great episode, a real 180 from the week before. Rule of thumb...don't talk to the F.B.I!

You guys are right about DW! Way too much CS...

There was an article in the paper this morning, stating that Drea De Matteo has a contract (no pun intended) for next season. It also said that the press release for the show tomorrow night said that Christopher gets a surprise visit. Rivalry between Tony and Johnny Sack is also supposed to heat up.

Sopranos is on at the same time as game #1 of the NBA finals.

Good episode tonight. Question: How can a man drink two bottles of whiskey in one day and still be able to, um . . . stand up? Highly dubious.

Sopranos:

Kind of disappointing season. Soap opera moniker is appropriate. Too many cliffhangers. The show now lacks a hated character like Ritchie Aprile, or the Joey Pants character. We need someone to hate!

Deadwood:

Awesome.

Regarding the language... I like it. What would you expect a bunch of degenerate thieving killers, pimps, and gamblers to have for a vocabulary?

Conversely, the manners and dialogue when a woman is present or "civilized" men are having a conversation is quite a contrast to C**K S**K*R and the f-bomb in every utterance.

Honestly I think the dialogue is pretty much what I would expect from a late 19th century Mining town. If not historically accurate, it is certainly entertaining.

Very good season finale. This show is clearly HBOs best current show, IMO. I've been hoping to see the widow's . . . , but I think it was a body double, alas.

I'd have to agree. Did you notice how they gave you a shot of all the characters during the parade? Let you recap how interesting each one has become, even the lesser parts. And Al is giving Tony Soprano a run for the "Guy You Most Like To Hate" award...

The actor playing Al is winning an Emmy. After the first show I said how great a villian he is. As the shows progressed, he's become so much more complicated. The preacher praying for the Reverend's suffering to end, and Al being the bringer of those tidings. Great writing. I just think back to how many shows started with a great first season, only to falter in the years after. Malcolm in the Middle and The Sopranos to name two that never regained the magic after year 1. That's what worries me about Deadwood and Arrested Developement (now that it's been picked up for next year).

Bullock should have finished off Russell. You know that's going to be trouble down the road. Also, as a rule of thumb, never get involved with a woman who gets off watching you beat the crap out of her old man. I know he really deserved it, but still, it doesn't take Freud to see the problems with that.

I agree that Deadwood is a great show not only for its writing and acting, but also fror its stunning picture quality.

It also got me interested in the real Deadwood. Here's an interesting web page with links to the real characters who lived therre at the time.

Molly Parker was especially not shy in Center of the World.
