Tut Systems and Wegener are staging a Web seminar to explore the ins and outs of MPEG-4 technology.
The Webinar (www.lightreading.com/webinar.asp?doc_id=27877&promo=26653) -- scheduled for noon (EST) Tuesday -- will examine MPEG-4, the latest of the video codecs to hit mass-market rollout.
Unlike its older MPEG-2 sibling that is a standard in television-transmission systems, MPEG-4 was designed specifically for Internet-protocol transport, and it offers significantly reduced bandwidth load for video data.
The session will provide an overview of the technology, the benefits of deploying MPEG-4 systems and what rollouts are now under way.
Keith Wymbs, Tut’s director of strategic marketing, and Ned Mountain, Wegener’s CEO, will present the Webinar.
