Enterprise Fans

Anybody catch the season finale last night? Pretty good. I just love T'Pol's nice big . . . ears. But Nazis? Reptile Nazis? I've always thought the back-in-time gimmick sci-fi shows do is stupid. Even Data's head in 1880 San Francisco was poor.

That was in true Star Trek Form. Yes Reptile Nazi's a little weird but it did what a Star Trek Finale was supposed to do...Keep you in suspense all summer long.

I love Star Trek enterprise. I started watching it but fell out love with it because on E* the channel looks horrible and the OTA channel is owned by Fox which multicast with their regular Fox channel here in NY. The OTA channel looks even worse. So these two reasons were reason enough to not bother with it. One day when there are re-runs or when the DVD comes out I will watch again.

Yes, it is broadcast in HD. It is the only UPN show in HD. But not very many UPN affiliates broadcast in HD, so it's kind of a waste. I saw the FHM and/or Maxim spreads. I know she did 2, but don't remember which.

I love me some Trek, but in suspense all summer long is "Picard the Borg" episode. But back in time on sci-fi shows is the equivalent of sitcoms going to Hawaii. Also, I kept wishing Hoshi would die. She's dead weight on that show.

I was lucky enough to catch it in OTA HD last night and it looked great. Hopefully your UPN affiliates will get their act together soon for you. My local UPN station airs the Wednesday show in HD but then will show it as letterboxed SD on the Sunday reruns. Why, I haven't a clue. Good show but a wierd ending. Maybe something to do with them finding Data's head. ;)

Enterprise may be HD but it depends on the local UPN affiliate. Here in LA we do not get Enterprise in HD. So Enterprise is in HD in only a few markets. Don't know where they are.

Also, I kept wishing Hoshi would die. She's dead weight on that show.

Remember, the universal translator is a work in progress at this point so Hoshi is not necessarily dead weight. Hoshi's not so bad herself either. Check out www.lindapark.com.

I'm not complaining so much about the actress, it's the character she plays. I'm not jumping ship. I just think Travis is potentially more interesting if they developed the character.

Yep, I saw Enterprise in High Def last night. One of the great things about living in the Atlanta suburbs is that I can get all but the PAX affiliate of the local off-air HD broadcasts on a single antenna.

I firmly believe that the next science fiction writer that uses time travel as a plot point should be taken out into the street and shot!

The only reason I sub to BEV is to get the HD Boston Networks and CityHD which does show Enterprise in High Defintion.
Picture quality is a little bit soft focus but very enjoyable. :D

Walter, if you read this thread, our UPN is supposed to be HD by Fall! I sure hope so, I like Enterprise but the PQ stinks in SD (even digital SD).

Are you trying to say Batman was a Nazi? :) He sure was something funky. Also, when writers run out of ideas, do they just go to the old standby of interjecting Nazis as the new villians? They were certainly bad, but it's becoming a cliche, sadly.

Didn't know about Jake 2.0. Never had heard of it before. I don't get UPN-HD. In fact, my UPN affiliate isn't even digital. My local FOX owns it, and there is some disturbing talk of multicasting it with FOX's 720p feed.

My install was yesterday morning and I would have loved to have watched Enterprise in HD. Unfortunately the station is not mapped. Even if it was I can not pickup any OTA as of last night. Problem is still going on today. Tried to all Voom but lines are too busy. Can't say that I am very please so far.

UPN also does a friday night movie in HD about once a month... my local UPN station isn't on the air digitally yet, but fortunately for me I can get the Atlanta UPN station (at about 85 miles out) with no problems...

We get Enterprise in HD here in Dallas, and Enterprise is probably the best looking OTA program I see in any given week. It is really done well. The weapon was especially impressive in HD.

Now if only the simpsons would switch to HD, I'd be WAY happy... remember when the simpsons was one of the few surround sound shows on the air?

because I'm the biggest nerd ever, I looked over at the Star Trek forum about what that nazi was. Most think it was a Reman. So there you have it, if the ST nation thinks it was a Reman, it probably was a Reman.

Just to let you know, Alias has been "postponed" for next year. I'm so jealous you guys get Enterprise in HD. If I had to guess when my UPN went HD, it would be 2010.

Being kidnapped because of said ability not good enough for you... her little break down not good enough for you... how about her giving herself up so Enterprise can get some key information. Not good enough....

Hoshi is one the most important characters on the show and she isn't that bad of character either.

There may not be enough room for Travis. Between Archer, Reed, and Trip, there's not much leftover for him. I like Travis though, and I'm sure he's not going anywhere. If I had to predict a cast change, and I'm not, I think Reed would go.

I agree.. last season was enough to make me quite watching. I only started watching again in Feb when I got HD and was curious about how it would look in HD, and got hooked. I wasn't crazy about the Xindi story line, but it did give you a good reason to tune in every week to see what was going to happen.

Sorry to rub it in, but you are majorly missing out. Picture quality wise, this is probably the best looking HD on TV right now. HD was made for shows like this.

I honestly hope not. I would have gained much more enjoyment from TNG staying on air than I have from the movies. If you have a good home theater, and can get an HD reception, it's better than the cinema IMO. On the other hand, if the movie contains nudity . . . :dev

I loved this season of Enterprise. I enjoy season long themes in shows like this. It gives great continuity from week to week.

I wasn't sure if Enterprise would be returning next season, and all I could think of at the end of the season finale, is "Quantum Leap". Bakula gets shoved back into 1942 as a POW of the Nazis!

I wish they would bring the Ferrengies into Enterprise! I miss them.

Also, anybody here besides me thinking that the smooth-headed ladies who helped the Xindis were Borgs from the future? Their clothing had almost the same neckline as the Borg queen and I think they had the same eyes.

I don't think they were borg because they had no robotic implants, or evidence of implants. The shots from their hands and the walk through walls thing was pretty sweet.

No, definately not Borg, but of course, there is only so many different ways you can change the human face to make it look alien, it is entirely possible they are just running out of faces for new races.

At least most of you are getting UPN in SD. Unfortunately, there are no local UPN affiliates in Erie, PA. There is no way to get it. Unless you have cable. :(

UPN is why we still have local cable. Can't get OTA here. Now that the Enterprise season finale is over, and we use cable less and less, we will probably drop cable and stick with VaVaVoom without OTA -- and just hope that VOOM will eventually carry local network affiliates. (not holding our breath tho) Our viewing habits have changed a lot in just a week or two of VaVaV*. We will miss Enterprise, but one program is not worth $20 a month for local cable.

Don't hope that! That ruined D* and E* both.

It would be possible for VOOM to carry local markets once they get their second satellite location online and all the current customer's dishes swaped out. Their current satellite is a spot beam satellite, so they could turn on the spots and start LIL at any time. Of course it would be standard definition local channels. VOOM has indicated that they are currently not interested in doing this, but you never know what could happen in the future. They have the technology in place right now if they decided to do it.
