That's not what 2 other threads were saying.

now as far as AMC-1, I would say that you're sat list was corrupt, I have noticed this when I have did up grades of fw in the past. what happen was my motor location position numbers got moved around and where hidden on other satellites, even though some satellites never had a stored position number, but you could see that number greyed out even when that sat had the Diseqc 1.2 was set to OFF, when you where using 1 of the editors. the fix for this is to, turn that satellite back on to the DiseqC 1.2, then select 0 for a position number then save it, now you can go back and turn the 1.2 off or change it to any position number you want.
The sat list must have got corrupted while I was programming in the positions.

I've had issues once with my Az/gbox combo in that the gbox would go way past the position, to the end of the arc, and the go all the way back to the proper position.

I've had issues for months now with the Az/DG380 combo. It only moves the dish one count and the it stops. It's hard to see it even move, but it does. Leave it for an hour and come back and it's noticeable.

I use AZbox edit 2880, you can also use Maz and I have used both 2.3 an 3.0, but with Maz you can NOT send it back to the receiver, it will corrupt you list if you use MAZ to send it back, but not with the 2880.

I agree with the suggestion NOT to use MAZ for sending anything TO the Azbox. And I agree that I was once at least partially sucessful using the older AzboxEdit program to initially build my sat list.

I don't use diseqC-1.2 with my Azbox currently, but when all the claims of it not working, I tried to reproduce several of the issues, and could not find any problem. I too beleive that most of the problems people have reported are due to corrupted data. There do seem to be a couple complaints that are believable, however when you get other people not seeing those problems, you really have to conclude that the issues are due to the way people are using the receivers.

Go to Settings, then go to Tv Channel, then select DVB tuner. Once there select antenna setup. In antenna setup choose your satellite and scroll down to position setup. Select Diseqc 1.2 and hit ok. Move your motor left or right and save position.

all is right on for the info sanjap gave you.
but you may want to store 2 satellites with the same number for the g-box, and this will be only for some dual satellites that are C & Ku satellites, so if you ever have to re-program the g-box you don't have to do both sats.

in the DiseqC mode, after you select "SAVE" in the command mode, you will see a box under it pop up for "Positioner Storage" then just right or left arrow to the number you want and go back up to save and hit enter, then that satellite will have that saved number that you have selected.

only if that satellite has NEVER had a position # store before, if it has been stored with a position # and you want to change that position # to a different #, now you have to use a editor to do the changing.
