While I'd love to have the Denon 3800, I just can't fork out that dough when this model is so competitive and kills it on price. | I don't think you will dissatisfied. I am enjoying both the 35 and 55 right now.

i am loving my 55....once i setup the analog inputs and celebrated it properly....you have to run them 10db hot on avg via the analog for comparable ref levels.
one annoying thing though....with Iron Man when loads up, it looks to connect to the BDLive and it can never do it on the first try so you always get an error message to check you internet connectivity. it goes through on the second try...

It's only a couple hours drive from here. Does your receiver not apply the necessary LFE boost?

The fact that the SD is so much better means this could be my future main player next year (when the price comes down).

S~ | Actually I had to go into my receiver (Marantz 8500) and adjust all the channels for 7.1 inputs hot.
At first I set them to the same setting that I was using for my calibrated digi inputs. Check the ole SPL and it was no where near the same especially the LFE. I took down my SPL setting for digi and then made the adjustments up words to come as close a possible.
The setting in the 55 only allow you to adjust downward. This would lead me to believe that they would be hot already but obviously not the case at least in my setting unless I am missing something.
Is this what you mean when you ask if my receiver apply the necessary LFE boost?

S~ | Okay after reading this an other reviews of the 55, does this then officially bridge the gap w/ PS3. If there anything that the PS3 has over the Panny that I'm not seeing?

If the sub output is low and I can't adjust it up on the player itself can't I just use the onscreen adjustments on the Denon AVR3300 to make up for the distance?
