Wildblue poor signal level
ADVERTS 1
I have a friend with Wildblue, just re-roofed his house. He reinstalled the satellite on the roof, it is not aimed well, will not log on. WB customer service says "You are getting a weak signal". It was great in the past. Can I peak the dish with a regular satellite meter? They sent a tech to peak it, he did a poor job, its not much better. Is there a way to do this without a tech? I just installed Directv 5 lnb dish, great signal level, so DIY is no problem if I can use my meter. Any advice greatly appreciated...

Since WB is on two-way Ka band, and is only digital transmission, you need a special pointing device, along with a meter. WB provides an antenna pointing aid (APA) to anyone who is gets certified with them. If you don't have one of those APAs it will be next to impossible to point the WB dish correctly. You'll probably need to get someone to come out and do it.
