    Westall 7500 DSL Modem/Router problem??

    ADVERTS 1
Hi, I just recently got Fairpoint DSL they provided a Westell 7500 DSL modem/router combo. Service has been working fine but have a small problem. The last 2 days I'd go fire up my computer and notice my DSL light was flashing and would have to reboot the modem to restore the connection. I did talk to Fairpoint Tech support and was told to callback if this keeps happening.

BTW my connection is 7mb down and 768k up and I'm less than a 1/2 mile from the "box" down the street.

    1. Is this normal??

    2. What would caused this problem to occur?

    Hopefully someone here might know.
    Thanks
    Bob

Do you know your Signal to Noise ratios ? It could be the noise profile the service provider has you under. Also some modems show you a stat that says CRC errors. This should be close to 0, if you have a rapid rising number you could have a wiring issue.
