Phlat's Birdview #2
ADVERTS 1
Here's a new thread and some pics of my second Birdview:
After a couple of years of looking, at hundreds of dishes all around SW MO I have finally located and procured a Birdview solid.............and it was within a mile of my house.
I have driven past this dish for almost 25 years, it was within 100 feet of the road but was not visible until the people tore down an old shed that hid it. My eyes about popped out of my head when I saw it, took me a couple of days to find out who to talk to, and they were glad to find someone who wanted it.
When I found it it looked like this:C-Band: 10' "Perfect 10" mesh/CalAmp Mini-Mag*** 8.5' Birdview solid/GeoSat C2*** 7.5' Unimesh***180 cm Fortec Star...C-Band LOS from 58W-139W
Ku-Band: 3ABN .9m/DMX521 LNBF/DG380***Fortec .9m/TrackerII/STAB HH90***7.25' Birdview "Spoon"/TrackerII/70:1 BV H-H***Prodelin 1.8m/GeoSat Bullet/AJAK 180 H-H...Ku-Band LOS from 30W-129W
Receivers: Toshiba TRX-1820 Analog-->AZBox Elite/Openbox S9 HD****Anxiously awaiting...GEOSAT microHD!!!...****
OTA Digital: CM 4228/CM 7777 Preamp/Apex DT-250 and Dish 811 for OTA Locals, Toshiba 46" Regza LCD
In Progress: Unimesh 12', (2) Birdview 8.5' (1 solid & 1 perf) w/Birdview H-H mounts, "Drake" 10' solid alum....*BVOC Asst. Cook & Bottlewasher*

Can't wait to see it cleaned up and working !
They sure used big pipe for those things, I would be tempted to rent a backhoe to
dig that out of the ground, lol.Icon 550, Vantage 1100HD (thanks Stogie) on .90M primestar DG380 motor.10'Sami+GI650 for c-band.

Thanks, all. I gave Birdy2 a bath last night, if the sun ever comes out again I'll have some more pics.

We just broke enough concrete off the top of that one so we could cut it off about 6" below ground. That 6" tubing fits inside 6" Sch40 pipe perfectly, you really only need about a foot of the factory tubing if you weld it to some pipe.
I've been so busy "harvesting" (and waiting for an auger rig) that I haven't had time to "plant" any!
