    Second Prodelin ready for harvest

    ADVERTS
Last year I was promised a second 6' Prodelin commercial dish setup. I took the picture back then. I was contacted yesterday and informed it was deactivated Sept. 15th and is now available for take down. Within minutes I was talking with a buddy to schedule a day we could get together before winter sets in. Slightly different mount and dish than my first.

I plan on setting them side by side at home.

I have one laying out back. Would be cool to make a polar mount for it. I would fab one up if i had time copy catting my big dishes except -22 degrees offset built in!

    Thumbs up - congrats:

    I've seen both variations.
With and without the LNB support arms up to the side of the dish.

I'll guess that the ones with the side support struts are later, and lighter.
The lower support arm on those, seems to be less robust.

I prefer the huskier version, but it'll be amusing to see what you think, once you have 'em side by side.

    edit:
See Phlatwounds thread on mounting a 1.2m Prodelin on a spare Birdview mount, for ideas on motorizing an offset dish.

I took some time 2 days ago and completely disassemble Prodelin #2. It's not built as ruggedly as #1. But it has nice elevation and compass like scales built in that the other doesn't. It took about 2 hours to strip down for transportation by myself, rusty bolts and all.

Yesterday, two friends went up with me to lower it to the ground and into my satellite equipment recovery truck for the ride to it's new home.

    Pics coming...

    Wow! Way to go!!!
System 1: Pansat 2700a with a Moteck SG2100 HH motor drive and a Invacom universal .3 LNB mounted on a Primestar 1.2 meter dish. Also using a Primestar .75 meter with a .8 Channel Master LNB to receive AMC 3 channels (this is because of obstruction in its path!)
Using Extigy External soundcard to encode AC 3 audio.
System 2: Pansat 2000v as a slave receiver on the 4DTV GI 920 system that consists of a 1985 8 foot solid dish with a Cotorola II feed horn and 15 degree LNB. For C Band FTA use.

There's a dish just like that on the side of an old Kroger grocery that closed near my work. I'd love to get it but I'm sure they aren't getting rid of it. It's at least 10 foot or maybe 12? not sure. Congrats on the dish. Blind

Rest In Peace Charlie.(10/12/29)-(4/26/11) Dad, you taught me how to use electrical tape and use coax fittings. I and my FTA hobby thank you!
