Too Much Signal?
ADVERTS 1
A strange thing keeps happening on W5.
I get a Quality signal of 99. Seems like when it's a clear sky I get a Q signal in the 40s.
I do the usual rocking the dish back and forth to see if I can get it back up to 99 but even if I push it 10 clicks to either side, the signal stays at around 45. Seems like it only does it when it's clear out. I don't have any breaking up or pixelating etc. I try to adjust the skew as well and it just seems stuck in the mid to high 40s
Can it be that it is overloading with too much signal and giving me erroneous readings?

I don't know the answer to your problem and don't think the problem is overloading with too much signal. 95% of my 4DTV signals run from mid 80's to 99 and I have never experienced the problem you describe.

Is it just W5?

w5 was down to 80% yesterday...it's usually 99% on all channels. I thought my lnb was destabilizing from being so cold.

I put on a new jack today and recorded all my settings and tweaked a couple.
The big experiment....
