First time setting up a Coolsat 6000
ADVERTS 1
Im trying to set up this thing, for example, my analog receiver/positioner has moved the Dish to AMC10 135 West (My LNBF is a C/Ku LNBF 2-D dedicated from DMS international), what info should I fill in the "Dish Setting" section?
I know Satellite is AMC10
LNB Power ? (ON I suppose?)
LNB Type ? (Universal?)
LNB Freq ? it currently shows 09.750 /10.600 should I keep it like this?
22 KHZ ? it currently shows AUTO
Diseqc Swith (OFF? because right now I am setting only C Band, Ill tackle Ku Band once I get C Band)
Legacy SW ? it currently shows "sw21 dish 1"
Im also having problems trying to deselect the disecq motor on all sats (this is a used unit and I guess the person that had it before me had a disecq motor) do I need to deselect manually each satellite or is there a way to completely shut off the diseqc motor aspect since everytime I try to change a satellite it keeps on showing me a "moving to sat xyz" screen tag
thanks!

One thing I know for sure is that you need to turn off Lnb power.
Because you have it slaved with your analog receiver and that one is already sendng signal to the lnb.
If you turn on lnbpower I don't know but if you did it you probably blew your lnb because then it gets like 2 times18 volts and that's 36 volts then you mess up your lnb.
Lnb type I don't know much about but lnb frequency forC BAND should be 5150 mhz I think i'm not good at remebering numbers but try that 5150 mhz for c band.
Te number you are saying is probbly for Ku but for C band has to be something like that.
Diseqc swicth should be off because you're using the analog receiver to move the dish so you're not using Diseqc.
Legacy sw I don't know what that is.
But try those and see if t works.

hi John,
Diseqc Swith (OFF? because right now I am setting only C Band, Ill tackle Ku Band once I get C Band)
Legacy SW ? it currently shows "sw21 dish 1"
If you are setting up C band then you want to choose Standard, 5150.
What you list is for the Ku universal lnbf at the back of the lnbf.
Turn your switch settings Off. No 22Kz, no Dedicated, no Commited.
For every satellite you have the option of adding a motor.

correct
if its slaved, turn to OFFLNB Power ? (ON I suppose?)
SINGLELNB Type ? (Universal?)
5150LNB Freq ? it currently shows 09.750 /10.600 should I keep it like this?
OFF22 KHZ ? it currently shows AUTO
turn the rest offDiseqc Swith (OFF? because right now I am setting only C Band, Ill tackle Ku Band once I get C Band)
Legacy SW ? it currently shows "sw21 dish 1"
The best thing to do might be a factory reset. Otherwise to change the motor itsIm also having problems trying to deselect the disecq motor on all sats (this is a used unit and I guess the person that had it before me had a disecq motor) do I need to deselect manually each satellite or is there a way to completely shut off the diseqc motor aspect since everytime I try to change a satellite it keeps on showing me a "moving to sat xyz" screen tag
installation
motorized setting
go to diseqc motor and change to OFF
save
you'll have to do that to each satelliteWinegard 76cm dish, SG2100 motor, Sadoun dual KU LNB..... Directv Slimline SWM 3 LNB.... GeoSatPro 36" dish with Sadoun dual KU LNB... Ive followed the instructions and im testing on strong satellites (for me AMC10 and Galaxy 16) but ive yet to see a single MPEG2 FTA feed or channel. I dont know what I am doing wrong but its perplexing and frustrating
. The "level" and "quality" bars are nonexistent when I select LNB Power "OFF" and LNB type "single", and when I select "ON" and "Universal" respectively I do get around 90% of "level" and very low levels of quality. The blind scans are taking like 10 minutes and have not shown me a single viewable channel.
Im using the skyvision FTA guides to kind of check out what channels are available, based on that I try to do manual and PID scans and likewise have yet to found something that works, despite like I said I can see strong signals on my analog receiver.
Anyone have any recommendation? do the skyvision guides even updated, what guides do you guys use?
Thanks again!

how is the LNB hooked up? Is it hooked directly to the 6000 or the analog receiver?

I disconnected the analog receiver about an hour ago to avoid problems, the LNB C band cable is going directly to the Coolsat but the problems remain, maybe it's a weak signal thing? I really don't know, however the Satellites I have tested have been the ones in which I get strong analog signals like G16, G14, AMC10, AMC11. But throughout all the tests just a couple of times have the quality bars reach above 50 or gotten green.
Another thing I mentioned earlier is that this Coolsat was used, maybe I should do a factory reset and try after that?

Update, I finally found a channel, TELEFUTURA on AMC 10, I had to get on the roof and move around the LNB in order to get a better signal!!!! making progress as I type!

Ive noticed that the blind scans take a looooong time while auto scan is faster, what is the main difference? if I want to maximize the amount of channels should I always use blind scan or can I rely on autoscans?
