I know it would take a remap from Motorola to get those added in there
Well I just fired off a request for more info and explained the situation with possible customers needing service. The way that the cable companies are at war with the pizza pan dish companies, maybe I will get a response. But I won't hold my breath. I did tell them that there were thousands of possible subscribers if they did come up with something. After all, there are several miles of uncabled areas. I live in one of them and it is only a few hundred feet from a highway. But they will not cable it even though there are 60 or so homes in here. Comcast can only say no. I asked for info on set top boxes and satellite distribution. Have a great day!

Yep megapipe the 4dtv cannot receive 29270 3/4 combined mode. It would need a new tuner and new firmware. When the 922 was being designed there was talk of adding combo but it went to production before that. Could you imagine if the 922 did megapipe how different things would be today.

In theory Comcast could add a few channels on there Denver Mux or one of the others 4dtv supports. Denver is 29270 7/8 split it can be stretched. The 4DTV could receive that.

Who uplinks the W3 Networks for SRL? Now there's an option to add a few channels quite easily.

Sky Report has another report and whoever the reporter is he lacking a few brain cells and still doesn't know how to report. Send off another reply to them about their lack of reporting all the facts. Not one mention of either SRL or SkyVision names just NPS side of the story. More People need to send a reply to this article and tell them to report the whole true from all parties.

My Email: The reporter still has his head in the sand and only talks about NPS and does not even mentioning that he's talked with SkyVision and SRL which also are program suppliers..A good reporter would have check all sources. Mike has a reason for spreading this rumor it's called making MONEY and getting his customers to switch to DishNetwork. How come the other two programmer have not been told about this? Check your facts before you write another article, all your doing is helping NPS kill C-Band. The only other option is your in bed with NPS which will be sad if that is the case.

Post Could NPS be changing there attack plan

I just got off the phone with NPS because I do have stuff running out today and wanted to see if I could get more answers. (I did not renew) This is the first time in a week I was not pressured into a dish network system when calling. The person told me that NPS is not getting out of the c band business but channels, 99% that are on G3 including, Hallmark, Lifetime, Fox News CNBC & MSNBC would be going away in about 3 months. The only one that wasn't on G3 was Blue Highways tv there suppose to close shop by summer. I get a feeling that NPS will be pulling down there reuplinked channels in the next few months. I asked them about W5 and the others and they said they don't see any changes.

It has become too much of an expense for them to keep G3 going, I'm thinking this is what started all of this. Since NPS changes stories from day to day they have lost my trust even if they back slide now and still want to sell the other c band channels. I still am going with SRL and Skyvison.

I figured this is an important update in this never ending saga.

Is there anyway to find the numbers on this stuff?

    Subscribers of the G3 stuff?
The cost of uplinking to G3?

Surely, all being equal, it is a matter of math - I know it's not all equal - just ponering

Also, someone mentioned W3 for SRL - now there is something that might be an alternative.

I prefer to deal with SRL/Skyvision, even before this fiasco.

I did get a preliminary reply from Comcast.

Comcast Media Center: Thank you for your inquiry

    Monday, February 8, 2010 12:10 PM

    From:
    "Lisa Horne" <lisa_horne@cable.comcast.com>

Thank you for your interest in the Comcast Media Center. Your request is being processed and we will respond to you as quickly as possible.
We will see what will happen. They could of just said that I wasn't a service provider and to get lost. But they didn't. I thought that since there are the channels on the W-5 bird from them, they could work with Skyvision or SRL for example to get them to us. Well it was just a thought. Have a great day!

    "The rumors are unfounded."

Motorola has not made a statement that they are getting out of the C-Band business. As long as C-Band continues to be profitable it will stick around. For the last 10 years some folks have been screaming, “the sky is falling.” Netlink/Superstar/Turner pulled a stunt like this a few years ago where they tried to convert all their C-Band market to small dish. They told their customers all sorts of fear mongering lies. They told their customers if they didn’t switch to small dish they would be without programming. I know what the NPS website says and I know what NPS reps on this forum are saying but what NPS reps are telling their customers over the phone is completely different and it is leading the customers to believe that C-Band is coming to an end. When in fact no one knows what is going to happen and to speculate and to tell lies does injustice to the C-Band community. And to those that have profited from the C-Band community and are leading to its demise they should be ashamed of themselves. The C-Band customers are very loyal, they are not as many as they used to be but they are a determined bunch. They have paid a lot of money for their equipment over the years and they do not want to switch. It appears NPS wishes to convert their C-Band market to small dish. They can do as they like but they should not try to bring down the big dish with them. This is how I see it. The quote in my title comes from a Motorola man in the know. I will not be responding to any posts. I just wanted to chime in with my two cents because I see a lot of misinformation and speculation masked as truth. I also see a few posters on here that do nothing but bash big dish. They should find a better outlet for their troubles. This forum is great and is meant to help people and get information out to the public. I thank all of those helpful people out there that give their time and gifted knowledge.

That's all fine and dandy. But, you can't expect people to pay E* and D* prices and stick around for long, Just because the signal doesn't go out in the rain. Here's just one example.

Discovery HD Theater (High Definition) $6.25 a month.

It's $4.99 a month where I looked, always a good idea to check prices at all providers. Oh yeah, your ready to see 4dtv die, I forgot.

Why not take your frustration elsewhere. Most of us here are trying to save our 4dtv programming and I don't see how any of your posts are beneficial to us. I have sent emails to Motorola, Comcast, SRL, Skyvision, and NPS, and had phone conversations regarding 4dtv's future. What have you done lately?
