    Minimal signal for G1 HBO

    ADVERTS 1
What is the minimal signal Quality to reliably receive the HBO mux
    on (G1) 133 Galaxy 15. I have a 7.5 mesh and I'm receiving about
40% quality for HBO and mid 70's for Star's mux. I know the Star's
will work but, what about HBO?

I dunno...........I can go to one of my Cinemax channels and de-tune the dish and see what the threshold appears to be.

If it's a 922, 40 is really close to the limit of 35. A 920 will work to in the 20's The meters read different. I would do some dish peaking and try to get close to 50 if you can.

On my 905 40 seems to be about the lowest that will bring in a usable signal.
I'd try to get more signal as that would get pretty annoying if the weather is bad or something changes. It would suck to sub for a year and not be able to get the full use of the channels you've paid for.

On my 905 I have been able to watch some channel's @ 36Q. As far
as peaking the dish this is the first time since I put the dish up in
July 2009 that I can receive a signal or quality on hbo. At one time I
had the star's up in the 80's and still no hbo's I believe the adl-rp3 is
to thank for that. And a bad coax was killing off my channel's on most
    satellites tp 18-24.

setting are 30 and 70. Does this sound right,I thought the shew
    had be or = 90 from H to V.

my 920 breaks up lower than 13%. otherwise it works fine. 12 % becomes unwatchable.

    crackt out,.

Your sig says you have a LNBF therefore the skew settings should not matter as long as you have selected LNBF in the menu. Options 6,3,2 and select the type of LNBF you have. My 905 is set to C-Band LNBF and for the sake of argument and because there is nothing on Ku, yours could probably be the same.

Edit, when you push the right arrow button and it shows you the skew and signal strength and quality at the top of the screen mine said H 30 and V 5. Vertical was selected for the channel I was on (a Cinemax) so I ran the skew all the way up to 90 and back down then all the way back down thru the negatives and the signal did not change at all.

My skew is mostly 85 H -15 V across the arc On G1 it's 90 H and -10 V. Your skew seems too close together. It's possible your skew is working better at those numbers because your dish is getting sidelobes from C3 and C4. A 7.5 footer is not 2 degree compliant.

But with an LNBF it shouldn't matter.........am I right about that?
