What I can't understand, what exactly is it about HITS that some folks like? The selection is sad..nothing worth subbing to in my opin.

On a side note, I searched listings on Ebay the other day for 4dtv. There was one auction where there were 20 or 30 bidders bidding on a 922 with an hd200. They were up to like 160 bucks when I found that auction. What in the world would anybody want with an hd200 these days? Mine has been collecting dust for quite some time now. It's basically useless IMO.

    possible reasons
-they do have some channels that arent on any other platform (the music channels as example)
-you watch very little TV but there are a couple channels available that you want
-there are some people who feel that DBS is the reason "C-Band got killed" yet it isn't...so they wont get cable/satellite out of spite
-they really like SD programming and would rather get a channel in SD versus HD?
-they dont know any better that there are other options out there. Heck some 4DTV'ers still buy parts from overpriced companies because "it makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside"

Although I'm not currently subscribing to HITS programming I do like it for many reasons. I believe if you tried HITS you would feel differently about the service.

    What I like about HITS:
    * No contracts
    * Althought not HD the SD picture quality is awesome.
    * Receive several channels that some DBS and CATV providers don't carry such as MTV HITS, Sprout, etc.
    * Channels such as Bravo, HGTV and History have E & W feeds.
    * Low cost packages starting at $9.49 a month without needing to subscribe to a basic channel package.
    * Goes well with OTA and / or FTA satellite if you are trying to cut costs.

    Dishes: 240cm (8') WS International Dish, C-Band * 180cm (6') Fortec Dish, C-Band * 180cm (6') Channel Master Dish, C-Band * 120cm (4') Channel Master Dish, SG2100 H-H, KU-Band * 36" X 26" Channel Master (StarBand) Dish, DBS * 18" Dish, DirecTV, DSS LNBF * Dish 1000+, Dish Network
OTA Antennas: Terk TV-32 UHF Antenna, (Pittsburgh, PA locals) * Antennacraft MXU59 UHF Antenna, (Johnstown, PA locals)
    Receivers: VIP722 Dish Network * Coolsat 4000 Premium * Coolsat 6100 PVR * Openbox S9 HD PVR * Motorola DSR-410DS

thats very debatable....While H2H has some channels the Welcome Pack has alot of good basic channels like TBS, HGTV, Food, History, We, AMC, CMT, MTV2, Hallmark and some more.

    2) And NO Contract required
I have no contract with my 211. Bought it for $100 and I can integrate my OTA locals in it and record them to a hard drive

probably not. I've used clunky Motorola crap when I had Shaw. Maybe the newer Shaw receivers have a better guide but the older ones sucked. Last I checked H2H worked off that old guide

    What I like about HITS:
    * No contracts
    see above
    * Althought not HD the SD picture quality is awesome.
ok. But SD in alot of cases is SD
    * Receive several channels that some DBS and CATV providers don't carry such as MTV HITS, Sprout, etc.
    already noted that above
    * Channels such as Bravo, HGTV and History have E & W feeds.
with most cable channels showing the same new episode twice a night its a moot point. If I miss Larry at 8 I can watch it at midnight on same channel
    * Low cost packages starting at $9.49 a month without needing to subscribe to a basic channel package.
I guess if you like MTV its fine
I like with the WP I can add a few lost cost packages (outdoor sports for $3...Heartland which has RFD, Hallmark, GMC and a couple others for $5)
    * Goes well with OTA and / or FTA satellite if you are trying to cut costs.
as does the Welcome Pack. And you can get new equipment and not have to worry if your battery will die or if it will power up right

Bottom line is if you like H2H more power to ya...but there are other options out there. I was answering the question that highskies posted

I know I wil get banned for this, but here it goes. This forum was originally for free to air satellite reception along with the pay service. Now that the site owner has gotten some support from the pay sevice companies any other options are junk. the main goal of this forum now seems to be to sell Dish or Directv programming instead of supporting what made this forum what it is. The mods slam the programming available for the 4DTV crowd when they could be pushing it and make more options available and make a few more buck just like they did for DTV and Dishnet. It really sucks what money ans greed has done to modern society.
sergei and Dishman Dan like this.
Lets see: 12 Foot Unimesh C-2 LNBF,8.5 Birdview perforated dual c-band feed with 2 Calamp mini mags, 1.2 meter Fortec with Invacom QPH031 on a HH120 motor. TT3200 in a quad core 4gig,ATI 4870HD,2 Coolsat8000's,2 each Coolsat 5000 and 6000 and a few others, lots of wires and switches! Oh and forgot the subbed DSR922!
