scanning for scrambled stations
ADVERTS 1
I have the Openbox S9 and it is working just fine.
Been scanning it with it only set for FTA since I got it.
Thought I would try to scan for everything to see what
would happen. I am getting all kinds of stuff that I have
not seen before. How is this possible when they probably
have the "$" sign in front of the name??
Done this from 131 to 105 so far.
Thank you for this site.

I'm not sure of the technology involved, but it doesn't work 100%. So we scan all channels and decide which non-FTA channels are really scrambled and which to save.

The uplink engineer has the option to flag the service as encrypted or not. Either by mistake or on purpose the channel is flagged in the encoder as scrambled.
When you select to scan only for FTA channels, the receiver looks for this designation and does not log the channel if the flag is present.Brian Gohl - Satellite AV, LLC (Gold Sponsor)
