The ECW Faction
ADVERTS 1
What are your thoughts on TNA doing an ECW faction angle? Right now, the members are Tommy Dreamer, Rhino, Raven and Stevie Richards. Will fans accept this?

sorry...ECW died in 2001...well actually ECW died in 1999.....it floated along for 2 years
Dont get me wrong. I LOVED the original ECW...I started watching it late 05 when the Radio Shack I worked at had Primestar and MSG Network carried it. Watched 1st show and got hooked after that. It was something I had never seen before. It was crazy...like the brawls I had seen in the old territory days of WCCW & AWA
I've got almost every ECW TV here on disc...from the 1st episode in 93 up to the last one at the end of 2000 + all the PPV's. So I am a fan
When guys went to WCW or WWE I still rooted for them. I remember going to a WCW Saturday Night and Worldwide taping here in MN (got free tickets from a radio station) and seeing Mikey Whipwreck come out and I cheered loudly and folks were like "who the hell is that?"
Then Vince "tried" to bring back ECW but most of the hardcore ECW fans knew the new version was a joke...and Vince turned it into a joke.
Sorry but sadly these guys are trying to live on to past fame and I'm sorry but I'm not into thatWinegard 76cm dish, SG2100 motor, Sadoun dual KU LNB..... Directv Slimline SWM 3 LNB.... I agree Ice, you nailed it. Love the old ECW, the DVD the wwe made was a excellent one, with a lot of great old ECW footage. And the first "one night stand" was a classic, give the wwe credit on that but after that vince wanted to kill that version and he did. That ship has sailed
Will be intresting on what they will call themselves? cant really use "ECW"

I didn't know ECW even existed until the TNN deal. What a joke that was. However, I have WWE Classics On Demand and they show old "Hardcore TV" episodes. They dub most of the music, which sucks, but what can you do? It is funny to hear what they dubbed the intro over with:
I prefer the real intro music:

The funny part is "Hardcore TV" only was the name when they started on TNN
It was just "ECW" before that
Still love the old school (original Eastern Championship) intro
This is the intro most of us remember...

I didn't realize that Iceberg. WWE calls all the episodes "Hardcore TV" in the episode description. I guess they don't care. They're up to the "ECW" episode that took place after their first PPV. This stuff is more entertaining than anything WWE or WCW was doing at the time.

The original ECW was unique because you seriously never knew what would happen each week. In 95 & 96 there wasnt much internet use so you had to wait a week to see. Ya never knew what you'd see
The other thing that WWE can try to do (and they've done some good ones) that ECW perfected was the music promos regarding upcoming big shows.
I LOVE this one...first time I saw it damn near cried
and for the November to Remember they always did a good one
The best were the "Pulp Fiction" promos at the end of each show to "hype" the next big event
and the promo when the Gangstas wanted their money from JImmy Cornette when they were in Smokey Mountain Wrestling...you wouldnt see a promo like this anymore
