One thing that takes away from a taped show is the crowd response. Most of the times, it's a canned crowd response inserted into the program in post production.

The 8/23 edition of Raw did a 3.23 rating, with an average of 4,800,000 viewers. The show did hours of 3.12 and 3.34.

WWE made it official tonight after Smackdown aired that Straight Edge Society member Serena (Serena Deeb) has been released from the company.

WWE did not include the "effective date" of her release. She was released earlier this week, but WWE waited until after Smackdown aired to make it official due to her involvement in tonight's show.

WWE's statement reads: "WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Diva Serena. We wish Serena the best in all future endeavors."

As we reported on Monday, WWE released Serena for disciplinary reasons due to "not living" the Straight Edge Society gimmick by excessively drinking in public.

So far only the RAW main event has been officially announced, but it seems likely that these matches will go down at NOC:

Kane (c) vs. The Undertaker- World Heavyweight Championship
The Miz (c) vs. Daniel Bryan- United States Championship
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Kofi Kingston- Intercontinental Championship

Not sure what they'll do with the tag team titles, or the women's and diva's championships. But the WWE doesn't put much emphasis on those belts anymore. They should probably just unify the women's titles, since there isn't enough talent on both shows to warrant two sets of titles. The tag division is also a joke.

WWE has issued a statement on the suspension of WWE Diva Tiffany (Taryn Terrell), the wife of WWE wrestler Drew McIntyre, following Terrell's arrest in California earlier this month.

"WWE are aware of the situation and have taken appropriate disciplinary action," WWE told the Daily Record newspaper in Scotland.

Terrell was suspended by the company following her arrest on August 8 and has not been on TV since then. Terrell is due in Los Angeles court this week for a preliminary hearing. The outcome of her legal proceedings will likely influence when and if she's brought back to TV.

Terrell's arrest stemmed from an alleged incident with McIntyre where authorities were called to their Los Angeles-area hotel after a party. Terrell reportedly assaulted McIntyre, but McIntyre has claimed in interviews that it was a "misunderstanding."
