Proud Staff MemberNote, two Fellini movies in today's schedule: Amarcord and also Juliet of the Spirits (this one, as far as I remember, was never shown on VOOM in the past).

I'm missing it so much I could cry. First time I miss Amelie it'll kill me -- KILL ME, I say!
But I'm just not gonna go from twenty bucks a month to eleventy bazillion dollars a month (not to mention tossin' away my owned 811 and droppin' twelveteen-hundred bucks on the new 9462246BlahBlah receiver).
But it's killin' me. KILLING ME!
*dies*

Timm, let me get this straight...you would have to sell your 811 (+150), purchase a 211 (-369) or 622 (-649) and then subscribe to DishHD Stand Alone ($29.99) and all the fees associated with it just to watch a handful of additional HD channels. Basically, $19.99 versus $36.99 and a $220 cash outlay for the cheapest option. Ugh!
The stand alone option sucks...E* clearly doesn't want anyone to subscribe to the DishHD stand alone package. I was considering keeping DishHD stand alone along with my 622 receiver when FiOS rolls into town, but that would cost $29.99, $6 access fee, $5.98 DVR fee, $5.99 DHPP, and $5.99 if I actually wanted to receive EPG for my OTA locals; $47.96/$53.95 just to watch DishHD standalone???
In F'ing Sane! Again, E* does not want Stand Alone customers and their pricing is skewed to the point where it is cheaper subscribing to DishHD Platinum once you have HD and a DVR. These nickle and dime fees and stand alone pricing schemes are worse than cable.
Anyway, I'm watching My Life as a Dog right now on World Cinema.

Personally I'm counting down to next Saturday so I can get the $99 deal on the 622 and get WorldCinema back. I loved having this channel when I had Voom, but at that point of course I didn't have an HD DVR. I anticipate I'll watch a lot of these movies. Some currently showing that I've already seen are great.
If you haven't seen it: The Castle is a really funny Australian film, and of course in English for those folks who don't like subtitles.
CDH.

Last time I inquired -- and it probably will be the last time I inquire -- I was told that it was quite simply impossible to get HD programming without subscribing to an AT package (I get SO tired of arguing with them about this!). And the cheapest numbers they were able to come up with were just ridiculous when compared to twenty bucks a month. But even the numbers you present are more than I'm gonna give those bastards.
