I grewed up watching Roger Moore. I missed out on Sean Connery & George Lazenby --too young to watch. Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan came at a time when I was over James Bond movies so I did not watch any of them.

I was there in the early days with Connery, so he has always been 007 in my mind. I outgrew the series in the Moore days and haven't really paid much attention since. But Connery became a favorite of mine in so many other movies: Hunt for Red October, Highlander, Rising Sun...

I caught Connery in him last 2-3 Bond movies. I enjoyed them, but it wasn't until Roger Moore came along did I get hooked. Perhaps it was my age, but I felt the character and action was upgraded/revamped during the 70s...and I just identified with Moore's character. The news 007s (Dalton, Brosnan) have not interested me in the least, but perhaps I'll catch then during the next evolution of Bond on VOOM.

You left out David Niven, the "real" James Bond on that stupid Woody Allen movie that was on last night. (I could only take about 30 minutes of it)

It was everything Mike Myers hoped Austin Powers would be, and more. It's not Bond, but refreshing to see parody in full force even 'back in the day' when some might actually be so naive/macho as to take the smirking misogynist franchise as anything other than an adolescent fantasy (it was endearing and good naturedly critical of its source, i.e. a solid parody).

Yeah, Casino Royale. I usually enjoy Peter Sellers and crew, but I haven't yet figured out how to enjoy anything with Woody Allen in it. I'll probably give it another chance sometime.

Sean Connery is the only James Bond. When you grow up watching Connery as James Bond in the original Bond movies, like I did, it's really hard accepting someone else as Bond. Haven't been able to really enjoy a Bond movie since he retired from the series.
