ADVERTS 1
This is in the cable companies best interest.
Why?
Cablecard customer today rents a cablecard at 2 dollars.
- Can't sub to OnDemand services
- Cant order PPV with onebutton press (limits impulse purchasing, as making a phone call lets more thought go into it)
With a True2Way TV, they still get you to rent the cablecard, but also can now have the potential for extra revenue from the above two reasons.
Makes sense to me.
Plus, they don't have to stock all those cable boxes, (yes, space to store those boxes COSTS money!!), and eat the cost when those cable boxes go bad, and swap one out for "free."
