It provides 45 hours of prime time general entertainment programming to affiliated stations from 4-11pm weekday/6-11pm weekends (all times ET/PT), along with a 3-hour children's programming block known as qubo on Wednesday-Fridays from 3:00 to 4:00pm ET/PT. WFMZ HD
WFMZ-TV is a general interest independent television station in Allentown, Pennsylvania, which is part of the Philadelphia DMA. Its studio and transmitter are located on South Mountain in Allentown. WFMZ went on the air on Thanksgiving 1976 with two daily newscasts and a mix of Religious and general interest programming.

WFMZ mainly serves the Lehigh Valley and Berks County areas with cable coverage in much of the Philadelphia DMA. There is over the air signal coverage in some northwest New Jersey counties that are part of the New York City DMA. WFMZ also serves as a local station in news and cable coverage to Carbon County and Monroe County within the Wilkes-Barre-Scranton DMA.

The schedule consists of some first run syndicated programs like Judge Judy, Judge Joe Brown, Jury Duty, Family Feud, Deal or No Deal, Merv Griffin's Crosswords and classic TV shows such as Family Ties, I Love Lucy, Matlock and Hawaii Five-0, and paid programming airing during the overnight hours. The station also produces various programs about business, sports and health related issues.

    WEDH HD

    Update: 02/16/2009
Ion Television today announced that, to help reduce any consumer confusion caused by the recent decision by Congress to delay the nationwide shut-off of analog television transmission, it is moving its HD launch from Feb. 16 to March 16.

The network had announced it would launch HD service in 20 markets on Feb. 16, the day before the long-planned nationwide analog shut off. Last week, President Obama signed legislation delaying the shut off until June 12.
