Milford & New Haven systems switch FOX-HD affiliates, lose WNYW altogether.

    ADVERTS 1
Effective Friday, June 5, 2009, WNYW (channel 5) and WNYW HD (channel 705), the New York FOX affiliate will no longer be available to Cablevision customers in New Haven County. Cablevision customers in this area will continue to receive WTIC (channel 25), the Hartford FOX affiliate. In addition, WNYW HD on channel 705 will be replaced with WTIC HD. As WTIC and WNYW are both FOX affiliates in New Haven County, WTIC has been granted “Network NON-Duplication Protection”; from the FCC for all FOX network programming. As a consequence, Cablevision will be removing WNYW from the New Haven County channel line-up and replacing WNYW HD with WTIC HD.

This decision seems out-of-place when you consider that the FCC specifically cites that WTIC has lowered-coverage of Milford in the new, digital antenna coverage AND that WNYW has increased-coverage of Milford in the new, digital antenna coverage. How come WTIC didn't mention that?

I still don't get why NESN is impossible to get in Milford and YES is included-in-IO-fee when the MLB agreement indicates that NESN 'must' be offered before YES can-even-be offered in New Haven County.

I am looking forward the the full-digital change this week to test out my antenna reception an see if I can tennis-shoe (don't get me started on Cablevision and Tennis Channel!) Cablevision TV. I would probably keep their nice Internet service, though.
