The Optimum iPad app is pretty cool. Does anyone know if you can use it outside the area of your own wifi coverage??

The iPod touch and Android apps are also nice. They don't have the live-TV feature, though. One question to Isaac, does it work on neighbor's WIFI setups or on Optimum regional WIFI setups?

    Thanks

I believe it's just on your home wifi. It's not like Sling where you can use it anywhere you have an internet connection.

It looks like the ap checks to see if you are going through-Cablevision and through-home. You might be able to fool it with a VPN tunnel, but I haven't tried it. The VPN (virtual private network) would involve a VPN-manager on your home network accepting a VPN-tunnel request from another devices somewhere else on the Intranet. VPN tunnels are not trivial to set up, though.
