Shaw 505 Remote Issues
ADVERTS 1
Is it just me, or is the range and response time of this reciever and remote short on distance and super slow? Or do I have a bad remote?
Being used to Dish and Bell systems which have a great 30 foot range or more, and instant response, the frustration level with this Shaw system is unbelieveable. Most of the time I have to literally get right next to the wall where my reciever is housed in my theater room if I'm watching out in my living room. And when it does respond, it takes a couple of seconds.
Other than that, the HD picture is great, I could really see the difference between the HNIC feed on Shaw and NHL Network on Dish.

Is it the black remote or the grey one?
I had a grey one and frankly I thought it sucked. Seemed to have issues (like you're describing). I used the Black one from my 205 and it worked fine.Winegard 76cm dish, SG2100 motor, Sadoun dual KU LNB..... Directv Slimline SWM 3 LNB.... GeoSatPro 36" dish with Sadoun dual KU LNB... Coolsat 5000 on motorized.... Manhattan RS1933....Directv HR34 (yes the 5 tuner monster) GeoSatPro 200 to aim dishes.... few receivers not set up yet
Two 6 foot Fortec dish with GeoSatPro dual C-Band LNB "ghetto moved" to various C-Band satellites
